The only real question is - if there is no heat sync - does processor slow/cool down or is there just wear and tear on the processor🧐

I own a 65” a80j and I spent a lot of time looking at content on the 65” a90j and over the period of price drops in the US I didn’t feel the extra $1500 was worth it. There’s no question in some dark areas of scene the a90j will be brighter where as the a80j doesn’t get the detail. It’s not something you can fix by changing the brightness on the Sony 80j. That is the only thing I contemplate between the two tv’s irregardless of size. Playing Batman (a dark film) is a good way to legitimately see the difference between both tvs.

Achilles Heel: this TV (and the A90J) only has a 100 Mbps ethernet port. Excited about Bravia CORE & PureStream? Here's a quote from the PureStream FAQ: "To enjoy at the highest speed of 80 Mbps, you need an internet speed of 115 Mbps or faster. Ethernet (wired LAN) connections are limited to 100 Mbps due to the TV's product specifications. Therefore, to enjoy 80 Mbps with the Pure Stream™ functionality, you need to connect to a Wi-Fi router that supports IEEE 802.11 ac/n (wireless LAN)." Also, it can't do wired and wireless at the same time, so you'll need to unplug your ethernet in order for wifi to connect properly. Other than that, these TVs look great. Bravia CORE movies look and sound great @ 80 Mbps. There are currently ~100 movies available for 'unlimited streaming', and 12 are in 4k--the rest are HD. There are over 600 movies available to "redeem"--but after you redeem your 5 or 10 movies, you can't rent or buy any of the other movies. I'm sure that will change at some point.

I had this tv for 2 weeks and couldn’t live with the screen flickering, audio drops and blooming was brutal mainly while gaming. I took it back and got me a LG C1 abs just love it. Gaming is a whole new world on the C1. Smooth as butter and beautiful picture. And the QN90A I had here in Canada only had a single HDMI 2.1 port. Where the C1 has 4! At least in Europe you guys get 4 HDMI 2.1 ports. That is a plus I guess

I'm looking at the C1 or A80j to purchase. I watch at lot of sports/Rugby league,F1, NASCAR, Indycar, Basketball ect. I also watch movies Blu Ray s and Netflix.I live in Australia where the prices are double the C1 is currently $4500/65 inches and A80j isn't out yet and waiting for release. Which out of the two is best for my self I'm not a fan of the soap opera effect. I currently have a pioneer Kuro plasma TV 50 inch which has been great but is ageing and I don't have any screen tarring or shudder with it which I'm not a fan of in the OLED s. Look forward to you feedback. PS love your you tube channel.

My issue with these sets is when they sometimes have those dumb pegs on the side which mandates a much wider table because they’re on the edges of the tv. The normal centered stand is still most practical and nicest looking.

Have been looking at the A80J 77" for about a month, from BestBuy to Amazon, they always had it at $3499 while Sony's website has always been higher, and their prices is consistently higher then their vendors. The reason why I bought it from RC Willey was that they have it in stock.

This might be a unusual question. When it comes to we the end users of Stream platform services like Disney+ Netflix and so on. On the Picture side, HDR/HDR-10 vs Dolby Vision. Is there any testing on what format gives best Picture with want`s left from the picture info. Here in Norway, Netflix content with Dolby Vision have rely taken a turn from god to the very disappointing side, while the HDR-10 does ok. Disney+ does dolby vision well for a streaming service. Have there been done a comparison on same platform content that have bout HDR/HDR-10 vs Dolby Vision ?

I think that except for the A90J models, I don't think that the improvements in performance are going to jump out at the average viewer on the vast majority of content.
