Hi, I tried this but I have a problem.
I have in C: installed Adobe After Effects CC 2014
and in C: Adobe Media Encoder CC 2018
I have problems with the AE button to add the composition to Adobe Media Encoder by means of menu> Composition> button

I've already tried the mlink / J and the total route like this:
mklink / J "C: \ Program Files \ Adobe \ Adobe Media Encoder CC 2018" "C: \ Program Files \ Adobe \ Adobe Media Encoder CC 2018"

But it's not working

For users who using After Effects 2019 and older version of media encoder rename the media encoder older year to same as after effects(Adobe Media Encoder CC 2019)

Thank you for this! It also applies if you have different versions of the software, like CC 2018 for Media Encoder and CC 2015 for AfterFX

So I found the issue what people were having they would have the files originally in c drive and have that error the thing is adobe needs to read same software and year so what i did since i have adobe cc 2014 i linked mine

mklink /j "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CC 2014" "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CC 2018"

so i have adobe media encoder cc 2018 since my adobe after effects is cc 2014 i just changed to the year and worked for me

yours might not have a year just put cc for example

Wait are you still like a working channel? Because I really meed help since I had this media encoder 2018 and it said it expired so I redownloaded the 2017 version and when I tried to render my new edit it said something about dynamic links. Can you help be solve this problem?
