Thanks for your great videos! I've learned so much and had great results. I do have one question. In this video you mention the "traditional" thinning mix of 2:1 paint to thinner, but in your video "How To Get A Glass Smooth Finish When Airbrushing Plastic Models" you talk about the tradition being at least 50% thinner or even 60% thinner. So 50% would be 1:1 paint to thinner and 60% would be 3:2 paint to thinner right? Is 2:1 for general painting and 1:1 just for the high gloss look?
ОтветитьI don't have any airbrush tools. looking for a brush paint to apply on my Tamiya CBR 1000 RRR. does it will applied good if i use brush paint?
ОтветитьIts a wonderful world people like you putting so much time into making these video. Loved the clear instructions and those colours you experimented with where gorgeous. Now where can I get those plastic spoons🤣
Ответитьeveryone says you can't do multiple coats with Tamiya as the lower coat becomes reactivated...
ОтветитьGreat video, thank you. You know what comes to mind? I can't help but worry about how much paint is wasted on that mixing tool each time you use it.
ОтветитьI cant believe how good the acrylic goes on without primer via airbrush... pristine
ОтветитьGood vid, thx!
Question: on small parts, do you airbrush them on the sprue then cut them off sand the flash and touch it up with a paintbrush? Or do you remove it and dress it completely then attach it somehow?
Thank you for a very informative presentation. It's helped me a lot with my new found project.
ОтветитьHi Robert I know this a old thread but I had one quick question I seen you mentioned isapropanyl alcohol for mixing…,you mentioned 91% I have 99% do I need to use 91 thank you sir
ОтветитьHello! I’m new to airbrushing. Is it the same thing with the 10ml bottles when thinning them for airbrush? Thank you!
Ответитьthank you this is such an informative video. do you have any safety tips? is it different because it's a hybrid? do I need to be in a well ventilated area and a mask etc how dangerous is this stuff, I am mostly asking about brush painting if that makes a difference
ОтветитьClothes peg to hold the brush. That's amazing. You sir, are a genius.
ОтветитьAny tips on how best to clean the plastic pipette droppers after using them to transfer paint to a cup?
Ответитьshould i use paint retarder if i only need to use a very small amount of paint to touch up a collectible?
ОтветитьI just got a figure which requires some painting albeit with detailing brush so this is helping out quiet a bit for what I need to do plus I didn't know about the paint retarder so this was very helpful.
ОтветитьA lot of gunpla painters swear by Mr. Hobby lacquer paint being superior to Tamiya Acrylics. What's your take? Do they like it because easy of use? the look? the durability?
ОтветитьAs a newbie, your video is just what I needed. Thank you!
ОтветитьWhat about the Tamiya acrylic thinner
ОтветитьI've got two airbrushes, one for acrylic and one for lacquer based paint. The Chinese one I use for lacquer and my Badger Anthem 155 I use for acrylics. The Badger has a .5mm needle and it works the best. I make my own thinner for acrylics. Cheers from eastern TN
ОтветитьThank Mr. Rex, for this video. I just watched it today 11-27-23. As Tamiya is one of my go to paints since model masters is unavailable now. I do both brush & air brush painting with tamiya. Wasn't aware of the retarder, thank you that little tip. Question, whole i do use a electric stirring tool, you mentioned you dont like to shake the tamiya paints, why is that? Thanks again for all your videos.
ОтветитьThanks for this video. Really demystified the process.
ОтветитьNice spoons. Glad I skipped to the end.
ОтветитьWhat does the thinner do to the paint?
ОтветитьWhat a great organised work station. I bought some 5 tier carousels for essential oils and use them for my Vallejo and scale 75 eye droppers.
ОтветитьThanks for your video, it shows some useful tips that can be used for most paints. Personally I wouldn't buy Tamiya paints, after being recently caught out with a Tamiya flat brown acrylic that just wouldn't cover over the top of a dried Humbrol enamel painted surface that was applied 10 years earlier ! Whether or not the retarder is essential, other makes of acrylic will cover easily without all the extra fuss shown.
ОтветитьYou cannot use lacquer thinner for acrylic paint, each type of paint has its own thinner, lacquer paint uses lacquer thinner
ОтветитьExcellent video... just cost me £50 in materials, but well worth it. Subscribed.
ОтветитьHey great video. Just got back into modeling after a looooong time off. Painted a model with acrylics and I am now looking to put on some decals and weather. I've read a bunch about applying clear coats on the base paint before weathering and decals. Some say use enamel on an acrylic base and others say to use acrylic clear on acrylics. Is there a difference? I used spray acrylic for the bas coat.
Ответитьthat paint retarder looks like a game changer when it comes to brushing tamiya! I've been trying to figure it out forever lol. thank you so much!
ОтветитьThanks for all the great tips!!
ОтветитьThe Fast Orange is bad if you have exema or sorisis. They use a chemical that has been banned in several countries in Europe, Canada, and South America.
ОтветитьWhich paint rack is that?
ОтветитьGreat video. Would any lacquer thinner work (e.g. from Home Depot)?
ОтветитьDo you have a link for the plastic mixing cups with no nub in the bottom? Those are great and I can't find them anywhere
ОтветитьHow much paint should you use if you wanted to cover the armor on a hg model? I have the tamiya minis. Should i just dilute the bottle so its rdy to go even for future use?
ОтветитьHave you tried doing the "jar trick" with Mr. Color Leveling thinner besides the X-20A thinner? I thought I could just go ahead and pour my MLT onto the entire jar of X-31, but you actually did it separate on a paint tray. Now I have 3 jars pre-thinned with MLT and I hope that still gives decent results
ОтветитьAFAIK, the little jars came first.
ОтветитьJust giggling the fedx driver handing me box's with what you're talking about he's handing me😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьI had never heard of paint retarder. Not sure I've seen it on sale in Thailand. Thanks for the information. Great video concept. I also might mention I never use primer and I have never looked at a painted model and thought "That really needed priming".
Ответитьcould you not, use the Mr levelling thinner in a small amount for brush painting instead of using the retarder ?
ОтветитьGreat video. I’ve been using vallejo a lot, been wanting to try tamiya. What do you clear coat tamiya with?
ОтветитьThank you very much for sharing! Great tutorial ! 😀
ОтветитьTHEN IT IS THESE DAMNED RADICAL LEFTIST ACTIVIST WHO ARE THE DAMNED INSURRECTIONIST WHO SHOULD BE ROUNDED UP AND THROWN INTO PRISON FOR INSURRECTION AT THE US CAPITOL FOR A DAMNED LONG TIME. DO TO THEM THE SAME THING AS WHAT THEY ARE TRYING TO DO TO PRESIDENT TRUMP AND SEE HOW THEY WOULD LIKE IT! WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE GOOSE IS ALSO GOOD FOR THE GANDER!
ОтветитьTHIS D.C. JUDGE, TANYA CHUTKAN IS THE ONE WHO SHOULD BE THROWN IN JAIL, INSTEAD!
ОтветитьCan I do the same hand brushing technique for the clear acrylics?
Ответитьmetal stirer on tin triggered me so hard
ОтветитьHi what do you called on that 12x24x1 on the back?
ОтветитьAny reaon we wont mix in the paint retarder in the pot
ОтветитьCan i use water to thin my tamiya paint?
ОтветитьIts a waterproof?
