Good to see a easy to understand view of a tanker. I don't often see breakdowns of tanker design.
There is one correction you might make. From the manifold there are drop lines to the bottom lines so there is no need to route through the pumps. The bottom lines fill the tanks by using valves to open and close the required tanks with the segragations as you describe. This way the vessel uses the energy of the shore pumps to fill its tanks. Loading through the pumps is possible but it causes unnecessary wear on the cargo pumps and is slower loading than using the drop lines. Normally only used in emergency if there is an issue with bottom valves.
Never heard anyone call the bride control room

ОтветитьFrom the very beginning of searching for oil, finding it, drilling for it, refining it, distributing it to gas stations, and pumping it into your car's gas tank, the 'petroleum industry' has to be about the most complex industry there is. What's it take to buy a gallon of milk at the grocery store? A bunch of cows you have to feed and take care, milk a couple of times a day, send the milk off to be pasteurized and bottled, then distributed to stores. Though I'm sure I've over-simplified the milk production process, it can't begin to compare to petroleum refining and distribution. That the case, why are the prices for a gallon of milk vs. a gallon of gasoline (excluding taxes of all sorts) ABOUT THE SAME? And sometimes milk is even more expensive than gas! That has ALWAYS bewildered me.
ОтветитьBG is a addict and has no problem telling you or anyone that ask. Speaking from the same glasshouse. Nobody surprised or care fr.
