I wouldn’t be surprised if Bill Belichick loosen up a bit on his approach

Bill Belichick was the head coach of a dynasty that went to 10 Super Bowls and won 6 with Tom Brady. I am not sure how he did it being the GM and the head coach for those years-- both are full-time jobs. Belichick also known for letting players go one year ahead of their expiration date, yet he did not fire Belichick the GM despite his last 4 dismal years. However, I would not hire him to another head coaching only job-- I would never give him a G job-- until he can explain making Matt Patricia his offensive coordinator and destroying Mac Jones career. I saw a spiteful man who should have been fired in New England after OC Patricia coached.

Unless Belichick is bringing Brady in his prime with him, there's no reason to hire Belichick.

Maybe Cleveland would be interested. He'd at least get them two wins against the Steelers every year.

What’s right with this picture from the owner’s perspective?

The problem you mention with Bill is the same one with Vrabel and it's why he's not getting any offers. Vrabel was in a power struggle with Titans ownership and the new GM as well. I don't think any team wants a head coach that wants to run the entire organization like Bill did.

Everyone’s assuming it’s the falcons who didn’t want Belicheck but maybe it’s him who didn’t want the falcons. I feel like a team doesn’t need to interview the best coach of all time. He’s interviewing you. Maybe after that 2nd interview he felt it wasn’t the fit for him and he’d rather wait for next year when the eagles job opens or the cowboys job opens. Maybe the bills job will open. Dudes got options and I guarantee wherever he wants to go, he will. And the narrative will change

Falcons will win about 4 games again

If I were Belichick, I would’ve planned a retirement in New England. He missed an opportunity to bow out gracefully. At 72, he’s done it all and I’m sure most owners are concerned if he’s either motivated enough or young enough to build up a franchise at this point.

The last couple of years of Belichick’s tenure damaged his legacy. Didn’t want to get a QB off the street, that was better than what he had on his team, to just win as many games as possible, maybe make a last “run”. To just “stand pat” and keep losing was not a good look. And he wonders why he can’t get a job. He’s a seventy something, stubborn and set in his ways. Folks are thinking the game has passed him by. By the way, teams aren’t exactly standing in line to hire fellow seventy something Pete Carrol either.

I was pissed about Morris at first. All I saw was a retread with a 21-38 record. After further review, it's not as bad. His losing stint with Tampa was 13 years ago. He was a 32 year coach that was thrust into the role when Gruden was fired. It's safe to say he's learned a lot since then & is more prepared to be the head man

This ownership is terrible almost worse than Jeffrey Lurie is at owning the Eagles. The Falcons can’t even hire a head coach that will help them win. What a disgrace this team has become. Hiring a guy like this is a terrible idea. They need someone with experience. The falcons not only won’t win not season but now they need a QB they have nothing. The falcons will be lucky to win 5 games next season.
