I wish I had known earlier on not to bother. While I don't regret playing the game, the longer I played, the more I just wanted it to be over. It got to be tedious and boring. I thought another commenter on a different video put it perfectly. It felt like they jumped the shark, so to speak. But the first half/two thirds of the game were outstanding. And absolutely beautiful.

Forgot a side note on the side note of magnify, You only get a single one, even replaying through hard mode, you only ever get one. But im sure people know this by now.

Useful stuff

a tip for just about any FF game:
almost all magic-using enemies will be resistant to immune to the type of magic that they USE.
so do NOT try to fight fire with fire, do the opposite and use Ice on any enemy that uses fire, and so on.

Where do you get the magnify

i prefer to use the magnify materia with the barrier materia, especially when i have barret in the team. then i use barret as main, use his abillity that further reduces his received damages and use his abillitie that give some of his health to allieswhen they get hurt. in this set up i only have to heal barret, nobody else and the damage received is quite low! i also fav prayer materia in combat (atleast in hard mode since you can't use items andbench don't restore pm anymore) lastly i've put the materia that gives you a nex attack after dodging with the pv absorb materia on barret with one of his ranged weapon. after he rolland you use attack, he does a short range wide attack in front of him (around 180° in front of him from left side to right side) and regen up to 40% of inflicted damages PER shot that touch, mking it a strong regen. couple itwith a regen on him, and ennemies technics--->vampirism and he's nearly invincible + he takes damages for eveyone else. lastly you can give him the revives earring (either the consumable one or if you're on ps5 the free dlc ones that gives revive at the start of every fight) + using a weapon with a "stay at 1 hp instead of dying" effect and voilà he's got "3 lives". you are unlikely to lose with that set up, using the other tips told in the video above (also use hp up materias maxedout for everyone, not necessarily for aerith because she'll need magic up instead and you won't useher directly so she won't be directly targeted)

bruh just use prayer materia, dont waste magnify on cure magic, use it on barrier or time

I am at chapter 17 of the game and gotta say there is never a dull moment in FF7R. Everything is paced beautifully and every character has a unique personality. Love the game. Thanks for the tips, they would be useful when I play in hard mode!

I don't get how the MPabsorb is used to get MP.... I cast a spell with MP and get MP back? I had this materia with lightning in my gear, spent 22 points on thundaga and got like 2 back.... lol... maybe I'm missing something..

Great guide for console players. Unfortunately kinda useless for keyboard & mouse users who don't have or even know what the hell a right trigger or left bumper are.

As playing the pc version for 20 hours already yep I sure missed that magnify trick THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN HELP IN ALL SITUATION AND I FEEL SO STUPID NOT USING IT.
