I planted a couple big beds with Marigolds this year using seed saved from several years ago. Rototilled N WI sand (soil), and spread the seed to fill the beds. Then I put fairly thick straw on top. As they grew I fertilized if the plant color wasn’t dark green with Miracle Grow hose distributor. I planted late so they’re just beginning to flower. Thank you for your help.

Delighted to come across this informative video! Hope you can answer my Q, i heard somewhere that marigolds don't like to be moved. I wanted to move established plants (that have been growing happily in pots & fabric grow bags all summer) into the ground. Can i do this, now in August? Can one do this, say mid-summer? Thanks

I planted mine from seeds, and they are leggy and aren't blooming. Should I cut them down, so they can bloom? They are getting sun.

I planted marigold from the seeds I collected last fall. When the flowers come out, they show only outer Patels, i.e., they are not full bloom flower. I use 10-30-10 fertilizer. The original plant was bought from the nursery. Please advice how I can get full bloom flowers. Thanks.

I just planted some French marigolds in my garden. I am now watching your video and immediately went outside and gave them a lot more water. This video is just fantastic. Incredibly informative, thank you. I live up in the central coast of California and my spouse is concerned that the marigolds are going to get way too much rain and will start to mold and rot. I live in zone 9b. Could that be true?

I have a big problem with snails devouring my marigolds...they keep all the other pests at bay, but the snails love them. I don't get it...

Purchased a number of these plants. They looked beautiful in my baskets. However, after 2 weeks, the flowers have gone brown. Waste of money.

My sister sent me some last year, put them in the garden.
My garden was transformed.
Maybe i watered the ones in the baskets too much. I've done my research. ☹️😢😭

My dad added some young marigolds leaves chopped up (like herbs) to his fresh summer salad with shallots and baked chicken breast. The smell is amazing.

I will make one correction. It only thrives in the heat once it is strong enough to handle the heat. I had two sprouts get baked after a couple of hours in direct sunlight.

I was waiting for info about how to trim, but it was just mentioned in passing. Do I pull off the dried flower? Cut just the flower? Cut the entire stem?
