I love my X-H2 but there is one thing about the C1-C7 settings that is driving me crazy: On my older cameras (X-T3, X-T4) these settings are "loadable". When you select them, they load into the current memory and you can then adjust individual settings, and you don't lose your adjustments if you turn the camera off, and you ALSO don't change the basic custom settings when you make adjustments after loading the custom configuration set. On the X-H2 and X-H2s you can only turn automatic updating for the C1-C7 settings on or off. If it's off, any temporary change I make is lost when I turn the camera off during a shoot, and I have to remember to change it again after turning the camera on again. If it's on, I don't lose my temporary settings when I turn the camera off, but I have then also changed the basic Cx setting. Now, every evening after a shoot, I have to remember to sit down and reset my basic Cx settings to their default values. This is all so disruptive to my entire photographic workflow that I find myself almost never using the X-H2 if I can possibly avoid it. I use the X-T4 instead whenever possible, and I'm actually considering selling the X-H2, even though it's technically a much better camera. It would be a huge benefit if the custom settings could be made loadable in the same way as they are on the older cameras.

It seems like the 40MP sensor, while impressive, really captures the attention of pixel peepers, but the overall performance of the stacked 26MP really outshines it in many ways.

I'll summarize this down, if your main focus is taking pictures get the X-H2 with very little importance on video now if your focus is videography get the X-H2S and your welcome

Realistically speaking, the resolution difference between. 26 megapixels and 40 is merely just above 25 percent, so 5 pixels in place of every 4 on the lower pixel count sensor… very little difference in the final image result. Even though 40 compared to 26 is a 50 percent gain in total, the square nature of the sensor and pixel-count, is the background behind the statement “25 percent more resolution” being approx true

You guys must be out of your effing mind to have guts to set $200 price on a $20 cooling fan. I wonder if you markup your cameras the same way? So they really should cost $200 and not $2000?

Thank you for the info you gave us. Which is better in LOW-LIGHT situations, sir? H2S vs H2 ? (presumably it would be the H2S, with the stacked BSI sensor as it captures more light/information to be processed afterwards for computing in post-processing versus the great extended electronic shutter on H2 and native ISO, is it right?), i want to read your expert's opinion. Thank you, again!

Both cameras sound great. But unfortunately, for me, I do not want to be forced into a flippy flappy side hinged screen whether for photography or filming. The tilt screen is way way better for everything apart from filming yourself, which in many years of shooting weddings I’ve never found myself doing.

Nice explanation, thanks. It's interesting to note the finer points. I thought about going GFX, but I think I'm going to try to more fully use the X-H2 first to see what I can get out of it.

1. I wonder why pixel-shift is not coming to other camera models that have the IBIS hardware? If not older models then at least why not add this feature to the XH2s via firmware update?

2. I'm curious how the upcoming X-T5 will relate to the X-H2 in features. Will it have the same sensor? Same highest e-shutter speed? Will it have pixelshift?

Well we'll find out that soon, I guess. 😉

Help needed! I am a wedding and event photographer shooting on an XT-3. The biggest issue I have is low light performance followed by focus accuracy (not speed). Which will be better for low light xh2 or xh2s? The xt-3 just doesn't cut it anymore in dark situations.

Is there any chance you guys could add the ability to map ISO to one of the command dials like the previous fuji cameras via firmware update? Being limited to Aperture and SS doesn’t make much since, given that all native lenses (as far as I know of) have aperture rings. I think the ISO button is a great addition, as long as our options aren’t taken away. That flexibility with the dials is more suitable for fast paced shooting in my opinion. My set up was Index on Front Dial (SS), Thumb on Back Dial (ISO), Left Hand under lens for Aperture — it was so intuitive and fluid as opposed to having to press a button then change the ISO on screen. Please make this possible again. The button is cool for when using a lens that has no aperture ring, but when using lenses that have aperture rings, it truly is a nuisance to be limited to Aperture and SS on the dials

i have a question: when will you update them to have real-time af tracking by touch in video? and i get that stacked is a thing and it does indeed make some things possible, but af doesnt need stacked to work. a6300 from about 6 years ago has still very good af in video compared to some modern cameras, yet it's far from stacked..

I understand that some the XT series controls better, but there is something to say about similar ergonomic, controls and same battery. As this roles down from the GFX 100 some of us may have already developed the muscle memory to work with this to cameras. As a (mostly) landscape photographer I see the H2 as the perfect back up for the 100s, as it allows me to have a longer reach (70-300, 100-400 or Fuji 150-600) that does not exist in the GFX world. The H2S is about speed and I see it as an excellent street photography camera as well as the obvious wildlife/Sports instrument. If the budget allows getting them both solves a lot of problems

I don't understand Fuji. Why can't the command dials control the ISO like in all previous Fuji's? Ok for PSAM but this choice of command dials is incomprehensible to me. Furthermore, being very performing in video, why is there still no possibility of having the crop masks of the various formats in overlay? For me they are mysteries ...

Great comparison. Have watched a few already but always good to get the Fuji Guys take.

Is there any particular technical reason why the pixel shift can’t come to the X-H2S later with firmware? I hope this isn’t going to be one of those cases where a model has features held back to prevent its sister body only released two months earlier from stealing its time in the sun/sales. I can understand some of the video differences due to stacked vs non-stacked, different sensor resolutions and speeds etc, but I don’t buy the theory that X-H2S can’t do pixel shift unless someone can give a really good reason. X-Trans held pixel shift back before, but that is clearly not the case now.

I own a GFX-100S and will sell some of my older X-T bodies and go full PASM with both X-H2 variants and the 100S in my camera bag, but it would not be good if some features are held back that can be implemented on both X-H2 variants via firmware when technically possible.

Eh, alright I suppose, but the PASM kills it for me, and looks too much like a Sony. I’ll hold out for the ’5’, that said, it is sad that Fuji decided to demote the X-Tx from the Flagship offering and if rumours are true the lack of an optional BG is very disappointing. I have had motor drives and BGs on all of my rigs (Canon) going back to 1980. Still looking forward to the rollout of the X-T5 soon.

Excellent. Thank you. Would love for Fuji to continue to open up the audio to third parties so we can get on camera non wired audio via the hotshoe. Wondering if Tascam will be able to deliver a shotgun/stereo mic configuration without having to plug in a mic to their already good preamp and if not, maybe other microphone companies?
