I can’t believe that none of all those doctors who knew about the first officers mental health issues didn’t let the airline know about the problem

This story is just depressing one man's battle with his mental health and his demons that got the best of him with then leads to a mass suicide and the company tuning a blind eye to it all

There should be no excuse for the cockpit door to be open during flight. The captain should not have had to go out in the cabin to use the lavatory. Boeing and airbus should design these planes with lavatories inside the cockpit. Once the door is sealed for takeoff, that’s it. It does not open again until landing. Like I said, I’m not blaming the captain. He was definitely a victim. However, if the mass murderer had put his evil plot into action, but the captain had been in a lavatory in the cockpit, he could’ve quickly opened the door and stopped the first officer before tragedy struck. The design needs to be changed. Like I said, once that cockpit door is sealed for takeoff, it does not open again until landing. May all the passengers and crew, except the first officer, of flight 9525 RIP.

Also, when it comes to food, the food should be given to the pilots before departure. The flight deck crew should have a microwave or stove to heat the food up if need be. The cockpit door stays sealed. Remember September 11?

Awful, evil human being. "Wanna go to the bathroom? I'll handle things". Then crashes the plane. Wish he could burn in hell for all eternity.

This was terrible tragedy, I just think in the desperation that the Pilot had, trying to get in the cabin but he couldnt, because they put so many "lock" to avoid something like 11 of September couldnt happened again, and the passengers and crew, this was a murder, and the aviation company had a big play on it, this man shouldn't have been on a plane...

As someone who has dealt with severe depression multiple times in my 30+ years on this earth (thankfully not for a while nowadays). I can sympathize with anyone who suffers the same. What I CAN'T wrap my head around is this coward's unbelievable actions. Speaking from experience, depression made me feel like a burden to others, i.e., maybe if I was gone, they would be better without me. Never, in ANY reality would I have ever imagined taking anyone with me. What this bastard did was not the actions of someone suffering from depression, this was the behavior of a sadistic narcissist. May he rot in Hell for eternity.

Also about the door lockout, there should 100% be an override code that opens the door even when hard locked from the inside, held by distinguished air marshals who also have public health records. The airlines need to make it clear that, in case of hijacking where the hijackers know you have a code, you have two choices:

1- Refuse to comply, fight off the hijackers. Potentially stop the hijack. If you die, you die a hero. Your family is compensated as victims. You go down in history as a hero.
2- Comply. Die a coward. And here's the kicker: All your personal assets are seized and your family is on the hook to pay compensation to victims. You go down in history as a coward.

Require two people in the cockpit? That just means you gotta take one person out. How about disabling the feature that wouldn’t allow the captain to use his code to open the door? Still only one person to take out, but at least he won’t be caught totally off guard.

This is one of the more infuriating air crashes in history. It literally makes me more angry than sad. A selfish disgusting coward puke, takes the lives of 144 passengers + crew when the airline had several red flags 🚩 on him. If only EASA at the time had the policy of 2 person minimum in the flight deck like the FAA at the time. Can’t even put into words how awful.

I’m weirdly drawn to this incident time after time. I get no pleasure out of it but I think it’s just disbelief of it. I just can’t comprehend what happened in those last few minutes.
Not that it would make it any easier, but had he just completely and suddenly “zoned out” then maybe I could afford some empathy, maybe I couldn’t. But the fact he’d planned it and even almost practiced it on the flight prior, it was clear he had intent on committing this atrocity. I have full empathy to people with mental health problems but this, like any other murder-suicide is just something that is against all well adjusted human behaviour. I hope this makes some sense.
I didn’t even realise ATC could actually detect the aircraft selected altitude on the control panel but they can, and they must have thought what the hell is going on.

This was really hard to watch. Depression doesn't necessarily mean that you wake up and decide to kill a bunch of people. This man had more going on than depression in my opinion......God bless the pilot for trying so hard to get back in the cockpit and save everyone.

440mph into a mountain would be G-force of roughly 19,000G. All occupants would be dead in roughly a tenth of a second. Death occurred before the pain response could be transmitted to the brain.
