What are Environment Variables, and how do I use them? (get,set)

What coding editor are you using? It look incredibly neat.

Man great content and everything, really! Great information density and well explained overall. But you fly through everything way to fast. Some people are curious and want to take a more thourough look at stuff you show in the video, and even the best quick-pausers have a hard time keeping up with your pace xD please take your time!

Also the env command works in Windows too.

So how does Clang / GCC know how many arguments are passed to your main() function? I don't immediately see varargs being used so am I correct in thinking that either your program looks at additional registers or the loader checks the ELF header for the function signiture to use?

On MS Windows, open the command prompt "cmd" and type set then press the ENTER key and you will see all the environment variables.

if you are still listening to the comments after 3yrs, I have a doubt, how environ[i] is jumping to the next string, if its a char* then it should move by 1 byte ryt ? an int* moves by 4 bytes like so

in Windows you open a powershell and type "Get-Children Env:" - the same list of variables

Are these Enviroment variables a bash thing? I mean, are those variables specific to bash? Or they are just stored in a file that bash (and c programs) read from?

If you're on windows just open command prompt and type in set and hit enter.
