Metro Exodus tips - How to survive 2019's most hardcore shooter

This is currently downloading on my PS5. Never tried any metro games and Im stoked. Just finished GOW ragnorok and i need something new and different. 👍 thank you

First off he only acnoleges PC also ive done ranger hatdcore you need to wander for supply or ammo most of the time second you can avoid most of the random enemies wondering around third if your going to do ranger hardcore try to stick to stealth or use cover very often or just straight up flee after you done doing what ever your doing at the location finnaly it is perfered to save ammo where ever you can most of the time and try to kill bandits and human enemies most of the time cus they not only have supplys but ammo and like half of the contaners in easier difficalties peveisly are already looted to say so they are probaly going to be one of the most valueable enimies to get loot from.

Continuously scout the visible area with Binoculars to add points of interest to the Map. This is great for resource harvesting.

Unlock Safe Houses and sleep so you can do operations at night -- there are more mutants active, but stealth past them, and you'll have a HUGE advantage over soldiers in the dark. Sleeping also replenishes Health.

Sitting on a Bed in a Safe House, you have the option to sip from your Canteen, which fully restores Health, saving you a Med Kit.

Holster your weapon (default "H") to sprint much faster and longer. This is especially useful when running from a mutant hive should you happen to wake them.

Whichever weapon you currently wield will continuously get dirty, especially falling in the water/mud. You can run around holding the Charger which will keep your weapons clean (but be prepared to switch to a weapon quickly).

Throwing Knives are great for mutants and reusable, saving you ammo.

My favorite combination of gear is the Ammo Pouch Carrier, which maximizes the amount of ammo carried and the Metal Detector wrist attachment, which beeps in combination with a proximity gauge to locate Metal resource parts (even those in a corpse's knapsack). Extremely useful for collecting everything as you go, even resources above/below you that you may have otherwise missed.

I've played COD all my life but Metro actually was easy Idk why ppl say is a hardcore shooter. In fact you should fire in rounds that is all.
I passed hardcore in 2 days (7 hours). The worst scene could be the bear (there are a glitch that might be use) then all is easy.
The most difficult game that I played was GoW 1 and 2 (challenger arena) and COD MW2.

After seeing this video, and having just finished this game ... I realize that I need to upgrade my computer. I had to turn down the visuals to make it playable and only now am I seeing what I’m missing!!

Lol I use the BB gun as my main, just because of munnition availability, regular ammo is much more rare.

The ranger hardcore mode is simultaneously the best and worst way to play this game. I love it and hate it.

In 2020 and it is still in my top 3 favorite game of ALL TIME. I can't believe a first person shooter single player game could be this good man. Can't wait for 4A games to make another one with the same open world formula cause it fits best for the metro franchise.

how do I remove the hints of enemies going around i ranger mode ?

tip for ranger hardcore, use the throwing knife as often as you can, this will save a lot of ammo and resources that would otherwide be used cleaning weapons/making bullets.

The best way to start the game is going in blind learn as you go the game is amazing as it is you’ll learn eventually 🤙

The metal detector was so helpful and annoying I wouldn’t stop until I found the source of the beeping always good for a resource run

I'm kind of surprised at how easy it is on Normal difficulty compared to Normal on the previous two games.
I probably should have gone with Ranger the first time around.
Enjoying the hell out of it though.
I love the whole Stalker/Metro genre.

Can you supply ammo in the train? How? I started a mission with no ammo (cause the mission before) and don't know what to do..

Very underrated game

Don't wander = bad advice, especially in Volga. It's how you find major weapon upgrades and lots of crafting supplies and some extra ammo and a few weapon upgrades. Also, you don't need a workbench to swap gun parts; you can do that with your backpack on the fly.

'Wandering isn't wise' in a game with two semi-open world levels and one narrower, but still expansive level. Lol, wandering is what this game was literally made for.

The most boring game I've played all year, and maybe the last couple of years.

not many games can make me wipe away tears at the end of the game whilst a beautiful soundtrack is playing.(Artyom driving Miller and Kirill)..

ranger hardcore has in the first 3-6 hours rly less ammo but then i had most of the time way more then enough :/
(bcs there are enough crafting resources)
