Bruce A. Ulrich In the long term does affect the machine in an adverse manner?
ОтветитьCNC machinery is a something we can say that china excelled at... there was 20 years ago when American machines such as Versa and Universal were known around here.... but Chinese machines caught up faster & better.... for comparison, glowforge costs $3K, for the same cost I could get a top quality 6090 with 80W tube capacity, it can cut 12mm cast acrylic like butter...installation included...
ОтветитьJust a handy tip if you don't have an adapter that fits your hose perfectly. I see a lot of 3D printed ones that address this problem and I see a lot of videos of people using ugly aluminum tape by the pound. Don't tape it AFTER you connect, tape the male adapter end BEFORE with blue painters tape. The simple
answer to most of these misfitting hose to coupler is just build up
about 1/4" of blue painters tape on the male end of any duct adapter,
now slide the hose over the tape and, poof, perfect fit. In many case,
don't worry about the clamps, just put enough blue tape on the adapter
to it fits super snug, but if you want to clamp, you have this nice semi solid seal of the blue tape. All this talk about gaping of the hose when you clamp is taken care of.
Is there an specific setting for the fan to be put on ?
ОтветитьGreat video. Thanks Bruce. I used your link for the fan and blast gate
ОтветитьThat's awesome! Definitely need to pick up that fan uprade
ОтветитьDoes the fan help with the smell? Or just the noise?
ОтветитьThose fans can be pretty loud. Glad you found a good alternative
ОтветитьTHANK YOU SO MUCH! I return the inline fan I ordered & I used your link! It was $20 difference!!! & I ordered the blast gate!!! VERY INFORMATIVE VIDEO, THANKS AGAIN!!
ОтветитьHoly cow! I know you had said it was loud, but I was not prepared for just how loud that was.
ОтветитьI came here from this week discussion on WBAT which I’ve been listening to since the beginning. Sorry Bruce, this is the first video of yours I’ve watched. As usual you look nothing like what I expected, I thought you’d look like a cowboy... whatever one of those looks like... I will be performing this upgrade on the Glowforge I co-own with my Mother,. Yes I co-own a laser cutter with my my mother. The best part is it lives at her house so I’m forced to go over and say HI if I want to cut something,.
ОтветитьHoly cow. That was LOUD! I wouldn't have been able to stand that.
Do you have something on the external of the vent to keep bugs and critters out? Last thing you need is an armadillo trying to print something...
Ahh so it's the blower for the fumes. That's awesome. It's so quiet. Where is the air assist compressor?
ОтветитьCrazy quiet! Going to be so much nicer for you
ОтветитьThe first time you used that on the video it sounded like a jet taking off at London airport. When you had put the filter in it sounded like a printer in the background, but you had a slogan “lost video from my phone” so did you rerun the test or what?
ОтветитьThat Glowforge fan is cRaZy loud! I can't believe they ship them like that. Nice fix, Bruce.
Ответитьgreat video bruce!
Ответить😳😳 no way. Ordering two right now!!!
ОтветитьWell done video. I did the same thing about 6 months ago and it was a complete gamechanger in being able to do other things when the glowforge was running. Now you can start thinking about completely taking out the stock fan which really improved airflow (pretty easy to do but have to have a cheap auto trim removal tool to remove the left panel)
ОтветитьI've forgotten to put the hose clamp on first many times too🤣
ОтветитьSounds like an absolute win!
ОтветитьHey... wanna know what that upgrade just said about your video? It said, "I'm a big fan".
ОтветитьThat's pretty awesome.
ОтветитьAwesome work, Bruce! Night and day difference! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
"Okay, I've got my microphone hooked up now let's go ahead and listen to what it sounds like before I install the new fan ...... um, hey. Could you not run the vacuum cleaner in this room right now, I'm trying to record a video!"
wow! That thing sounded like a jet engine spinning up! What a difference!
That is a huge difference!
ОтветитьWow, that made SUCH a difference...that's amazing!
ОтветитьFirst - Is this getting old yet haha
