GoPro Hero 8 Black review

Watching this video in 2023, almost 2024. I was thinking about buying a DSLR to make videos of the work here in my farm, but... I really don't think a semi-pro gear is worth the price. This Hero 8 seems to do all the job with great quality and with much more "comfort". Sometimes I think that is better to just keep using my decades old gear and pretend that my videos are intentionally recorded with low quality to keep a "vintage" style. ¶;D~

Most GoPro once the firmware is corrupted you are on your own .

Bait & switch tactics at GoPro... Don’t buy a GoPro. Can’t use app with iPhone 6. I’m 100% content with the iPhone 6 and they can’t make an app without forcing you to consume more and waste! Ok not necessary, buy a better brand.

yeah. i have a 4k monitor, i-7 processor, 32 gigs of ram, RTX2060 video card, and this video looks bad.

I have real tale of woe with the Go Pro Plus program. It's a cautionary tale so customers will know what is in store for them when they contact Go Pro customer support about a camera replacement. In an on line chat with a representative I was told that there would be a $99.00 service charge to replace my Max because of a scratched lens. I was told that another representative would be calling to obtain my credit card number and authorize the $99.00 charge. I gave my debit card number and the agent said it had processed satisfactorily and that I would receive an email with an RMA and a free UPS shipping label. I did not receive the label for almost 24 hours, and when I looked on my bank account I saw that the charge was for $223.79! Leaving me with not enough money to eat for the rest of the month! Yes, I am 75 and living in limited income (Social Security etc) So, but beware of Go Pro trying to starve its customers! I am still trying to sort this out and get the charge removed

Honestly after listening to your review I don’t think its worth buying the Hero 8, especially after considering its negatives to the Hero 7!!

My million $$$$ question is that until now NO ONE had ever made a dedicated HANDS ON review of the Hero cameras for BIG GAME FISHING.

1 - There are millions of fishermen that when the fish strikes, don’t have time to catch a camera (and record their ACCOMPLISHMENT to later BRAG about it with friends and family….!!!) as they are preoccupied with reeling in the fish. Hero’s function the VOICE CONTROL if properly presented (in action while actually fishing) will entice hundreds of thousands to buy, more than one (one strapped on their chest and or headset, and another fixed on the top floor of the yacht showing a bird’s eye view of the fishing platform below. Trust me they will!!

2 - When the fish strikes the angler does not have time to register on the GPS the coordinates so he could come again to the same spot. If the GPS function of the Hero registers the coordinates as opposed of being merely a geolocator then it will be its hottest selling point.

Please advise.

After 6 months of using the Hero 8 I definitely prefer it over the Hero 7 - but mainly due to Hypersmooth 2.0 over anything else! The folding fingers have been bugging me though, much prefer the cage mount option!

I got my first 8 black for my birthday which stopped working after my first use. Luckily they were happy to replace it for free. My second one lasted one day before breaking once again. After that I got my money back and used it for a Sony A5100 mirrorless camera which is by far the best camera I’ve ever had

I'm really disappointed with the photos. Not the best quality, and no landscape view. Although it says 16:9 wide aspect ratio, all the photos come out as a 'square' when uploading to computer, in a 4:3 aspect ratio view. Hero 2018 had no such problem.

Anyone noticed that gap at the top of the Hero8 where the latch door is located? Isn't that a concern in wet weather when water can seep in?

I purchased gopro hero 8 and the footages are so amazing, just configure the right settings and you're good to go!!!
