Finally someone explaining this properly. Google selling a home device but not telling you how to use it clearly.

Is there away to setup one shopping list and all family members can add with their voice? At the moment it is personalising to each one’s one shopping list

i want to be able to add another voice match so my mother can make calls on Google Duo. she is 84 and doesn’t have a mobile or an email address.
this is for emergency calling to call someone if i’m away from home, or so she can contact a friend for help, or just be able to contact a friend. Help please as this teacher can save lives.

i’m very surprised that Google did not continue as they did two years ago, to allow google to call all phones mobile or land lines, that way someone could call for help by asking the goole nest to make the call and get help. They could have call for help and save a life, which you can with Alexa, and not need to be so selective. Another lost benifit with Google. Come on Wake up Google.

I did all of the above and Google set up is a complete mess, I have 3 devices, 2x nest minis (kids) & 1 nest hub (mine) & all had the voice match installed and have their own google account installed on their own device with their own google home app linked to my owner account.
When my kids ask a question, all devices respond, if they ask to play music, all devices resond and start playing music in each room at the same time etc they will not work independently

I cannot seperate them, I have done a factory reset and started from scratch 3 times, they all interact at the same time, so frustrating...I really hoped this would work, but seems it only works if you want a synchronised experience throughout your home (which I don't) aarrggh

I have now purchased Echo dots to see if this system would work better for us.

Brett, Google won't let my wife add items to the shopping list connected to my account. I've added her to the home and shared the ShoppingList with her but no luck, any thoughts?

Is it possible to ser a routine that when I say "today is my wife's birthday" that Google along with Philips Hue can adjust the lights to change colours to create a party atmosphere and then Google plays Happy Birthday?

Everytime my parents try using spotify on it whilst I'm out it will stop playing music on my phone whilst I'm out. I have my mums spotify account set up on it but still wont just play music from hers. Anyone know how to fix this?

Hi I’m new to all of these and getting confused. When linking family members are they able to sign into their personal music apps or is it running off yours from the initial user set up. I’m torn because I just got an echo and more for Christmas presents and seems like with echo all family members will have to listen to my music accounts. My daughter is liking all the skills Alexa can do though

Let's say I wanna listen to something to fall asleep on MY spotify account on MY Google Home, but my mom wants to listen to HER spotify account with Bon Jovi on HER Google Mini.

We share a Family spotify plan.


I'd also love to know how to do it if say she had her Family plan, and I JUST had MY OWN Premium plan.



I originally had Premium, but just switched to Family plan on hers with NO LUCK to solve this.


I just wanna listen to my stuff without her interrupting my music listening session, and without her using my spotify account, because mine acts as a main when using it to listen to music on Google Home.

So when she listens to her stuff, it goes in my recommendations, which makes playlists for me with what she has been listening to, which isn't great.


She also really wants to be able to listen to her own spotify on her Google Mini.


We have about 6 Google AI's- 3 Google Homes, 2 Google Minis and 1 Google Nest.

When I add my kids to my home, will they be able to delete stuff? Also, Harmony will only listen to me and my wife to turn the TV on. But it won't listen to my kids. Do I need to link my kids to my Google account for Harmony to work for my kids?
