PHP Lesson 25 - Escaping Characters and Complex String Syntax

Great tutorial. I see how it is done with quotes but how would I do it in this case where I want to escape the ampersand sign?

if( preg_match("/\A(Development & Advanced Patient Care)\Z/i",$program)

this particular lesson just saved me 25% of my total grade in DB programming :S
