Seriously it’s more of your shooting form and how your confident at shooting the ball not what your aiming at if your confidence is high and you work on your shooting form you’ll get better I tried this and I always missed but I worked on my form day in and day out and I’ve gotten better so this is totally BS

After my back injury resulted in multiple slip discs in my spine I can no longer do a lot of jump shots without feeling the pain on landing so I started shooting high arching “moon shot” without jumping by aiming higher in the middle of the ring. I’m a much better than before. Even my mini jump shots are quicker and easier to get off, kind of already in shooting motion before feet’s off the ground.
