One title I am dearly missing is "Moons of madness". In my opinion also one of the top lovecraftian games. Its slow build-up and increasing level of mind bending madness is real worth a try. Also this games does a very good job in giving you a deep feeling of dread, loneliness and beeing caught in a maddening reality.
ОтветитьA few Lovecraftian games that I would add to this list for people who are interested for more:
- Anchorhead
- Conarium
- Dagon
- Darkness Within - In Pursuit of Loath Nolder
- Darkness Within 2 - The Dark Lineage
- Dreams in the Witch House
- Eternal Darkness - Sanity's Requiem
- The Last Door 1 and 2
- The Room series
- The Suffering 1 and 2
You also forgot Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.
ОтветитьAdd Stygian Reign of the old ones to the list.
It was abandoned by the devs while in development, so the story ends on a cliffhanger and some quests are bugged and can't actually be completed, BUT it's still the most atmospheric lovecraftian game I've ever played (beats all of the games in this list + others not listed).
The game WILL leave you wanting more, so play at your own risk.
What in the world is " Lovecraftian?? That might help some people...
ОтветитьPath of Exile also have some Lovecraftian influences
ОтветитьSherlock holmes: the Awakened 2002, check that one, guys
Ответить“Lovecraft’s Untold Stories”~ ❤
The best game imo :p
The Land of Pain 😍❤🦑🌊
ОтветитьThe only thing i got from this video is that im lacking potato salad
ОтветитьAdd a newer game, Dredge.
ОтветитьAdd Dredge to that list, amazing game, the cosmic horror is more subtle but it's there
Ответитьwhat about call of cthulhu 2005? are you for real?
Ответитьhow about Lovecraft vs Tesla!
ОтветитьThe most scaring Lovecraftian game i have seen is Fortnite.
ОтветитьHey guys I am not sure if you might be interested in this news or not, but there is an MMORPG based on Cthulhu myth. It is named Eresys, where you and your followers can even summon/fight the great old ones. Unfortunately it is for pc only though.😖👋🏻
ОтветитьA great miss in my opinion is Alder's Blood. Amazing stealth turn based RPG. Thanks for the list!
ОтветитьDon't forget the original Quake! The environments are dark and surreal, the combat is chunky, and the soundtrack fills you with a sense of dread!
ОтветитьI played Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth long ago. It's a fantastic game.
ОтветитьWhat an amazing list. May pick up some of these
ОтветитьI'm a longtime Lovecraft fan, I paid full price for Sinking City when it first released and loved it. Bought the Series X version in the sale and played through it again and enjoyed it then also. Probably the only game I've ever completed twice. Excellent soundtrack and great atmosphere which goes a long way for me (particularly in a Lovecraft game).
Each to their own but I find it generally underrated.
Cool, as usual added a whole bunch of games to my wishlist :)
ОтветитьYou should’ve added the game Edge of Nowhere, that was another great one
ОтветитьThis is the kind of videos my soul needs. Saludos.
ОтветитьI am going to need the recipe of this legendary Potato Salad, i can't take it anymore.
ОтветитьYou missed a lot more games, some are mentioned in the comments. Also:
Prisoner of Ice
Arkham Horror: mother's embrace
For me is the best lovecraftian game Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. I finished it three times and it is amazing. It hasn't Lovecraft lore, but it is heavily inspired by it. You play as twelve characters in span of two thousand years and you fight against darkness and it is awesome. Also it has fantastic insanity effects and gameplay, atmosphere, soundtrack and writing is also top.
ОтветитьBarotrauma can be good one too
ОтветитьDark Corners of the earth?
Ответить+ Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones
ОтветитьSunless sea - my favorite from roster
ОтветитьThat's what she said LOL.
Ответитьawesome list. I would love to see another theme based lists. dark / grim games or best rpgs of all time etc.
ОтветитьYou missed Stygian Reign of the old ones :)
Ответитьyou should also check out "The Last Door", amazing 2d pixel artstyle horror game
ОтветитьThis list is fantastic, you introduced some games which looks very promising and I've never heard about, so thank you! However, I do miss Cthulhu - Dark Corners of Earth, which is indeed full of bugs but has great story and gameplay is fun
ОтветитьI've never heard of Stirring Abyss, it looks pretty interesting.
ОтветитьFirst amnesia!!!!
Ответить😀Wow you managed to fish yourselves 😀😀
ОтветитьGreat list, but you missed Gibbous – A Cthulhu Adventure. probably the best point-and-click adventure I've ever played
ОтветитьA hidden gem and one that not a lot of people know about because it’s so hard to define would be Weird West a gothic horror with clunky combat, but reminiscent of Lovecraft’s classic stories. You have a nightmare that you are in a room with five portraits and are branded only to awake at home with the fresh brand on your neck, your husband is missing, so you strap on your old irons and head out into the weird west to find him, but as you travel random encounters are rife and filled with monsters and that bandit you killed may have a friend with a vendetta or have been in a cult.
ОтветитьPerfect list, thank you1!
ОтветитьGood list of Lovecraftian games, bravo 👏
ОтветитьSome more games that could easily fit in this list if I could work on one video for unlimited time:
Source of Madness
Returnal
Soma
Conarium
Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones
Scorn
The Last Door
Dagon
Lamentum
Strange Horticulture
Iratus: Lord of the Dead
Gibbous – A Cthulhu Adventure
Return of the Obra Dinn (not exactly lovecraftian, but has all the vibes)
Cthulhu - Dark Corners of the Earth
