I shared how I use color charts, but would love to hear your tips as well! Always something to learn when it comes to color!
Also, some are saying this chart costs too much. To that I would say yeah its not cheap, but making tiny chips that are super accurate and have true blacks isn't easy to develop! Not to mention using this chart when you mess up will pay for itself very VERY quickly!
This makes me so grateful I switched to Resolve jesus christ FCPX is a faff
ОтветитьThis is really crazy, the whole point in using one of these charts, with all its precisely colored squares is to AUTOMATE the process of color correction!
You are supposed to make a profile using X-rite software. The software recognizes the different squares (or you identify them for the software) then makes a profile that you can import into your image editor (or video editor). The software in this case would make a profile that corrects the blue cast and once you apply the profile all your clips would be fixed!
The colors on this chart are precisely calibrated, the x-rite software knows what they should be so compares the ideal values with the actual values that appear in your clip/photo to create a corrective profile.
There may be some x-rite software, or x-rite plug in for NLE editors that allows you to make the profile for video. I thought that was what you would show us.
Adjusting the color as you do doesn't require precisely defined color swatches on a card, i.e. it doesn't require this x-rite color passport. (I don't know why you assume that the red, green and blue on the chart are the primary version of those colors)
And FYI your final skin tone has a slight magenta cast, probably the result of the deviation of the red, green and blue on the chart from actual primary values.
Why is everything so expensive omg
ОтветитьSo this whole workflow can be done in Davinci with the Color Chart Tool ? You don't learn much, but it's pretty convenient!
ОтветитьHi! nice video. One question: at the end of the video, is your skin looking on the red side because that is your undertone? i mean if thats the real color of your skin in reality under neutral white lighting, or is an error from the color chart? I am looking for some chart that allows me to show the 100% real skin color of the portrait rather than changing it. Thanks in advance!
Ответитьgreat video! thank you so much! 🙏
ОтветитьThe best color card tutorial out there. Thanks!
Ответить✌✌✌
ОтветитьThis is the best. Seriously.
ОтветитьI see why it takes a team to create a movie. Great information but so much. Lol I think I'll hire a color grader!
ОтветитьHow come these adjustments are not donne automatically ? And no script for the workflow ?
"Funny" also that one cannot just center the off-center (to one central point) just by dragging them there.
God Bless You!
ОтветитьThank you for your video! When using a LUT, on which moment in the color grading process do you recommend the color checker process (or nodes in Resolve)? Best
Ответить$150? You can get the same thing for like $15 guys.....seriously.
ОтветитьCan it fix colors from a RYYB sensor?
ОтветитьA reference Video save in my color grading playlist like this i can come to it easily and it's maybe the fifth time i come to it !!
ОтветитьPick one up and make sure it is the X-rite one or one made by the company they became Calibrate because there are competitors which put out more expensive units which are not color accurate.😳😳😳
ОтветитьDespite the high price, this is the best money ever spent for videographers.
Don’t look at dollars, look at man hours colorgrading, watching videos and you’ll realize the value.
Great video, sorry for the stupid question, If I set 2 difference white balance for the same shot, is it able to correct color temperature of these 2 clips in same result ?
