16. SIKKIL SISTERS-Flute Duet @ Nadasurabhi in 2006 .

Nadasurabhi is pleased to present excerpts from the concert of Sikkil Sisters Sangita Kalanidhis Smt. Kunjumani and Smt. Neela held at Nadasurabhi on 22nd November 2006 during the 13th Annual Music Festival.

Sikkil Sisters are one of the most popular and most decorated Carnatic flautists. Sikkil Sisters have been giving concerts together since 1962. They are top artistes of the All India Radio and they have been giving hundreds of performances at all the sabhas, television and elsewhere, both within India and abroad. The sisters blend the tone and play on their flutes and the merger is total and the effect remarkable. Their presentation is authoritative, chaste and follows an orthodox style. They have won numerous awards and titles which include Sangita Kalanidhi, Padma Sri, Sangeet Natak Academy award and Kalaimamani.

The accompanying artists, Vidwan C.N.Chandrasekar on violin, Vidwan V.Praveen on mridangam and Vidwan M.A. Krishnamurthy are very senior artists in their respective instruments with decades of stage experience.
