The Northern hemisphere has learnt how to play Southern hemisphere rugby, in no small part due to the southern coaching influence. So it's like they've got a new toy and are very proud of it, so proud in fact it seems like they not only reinvented it but have mastered all of its intricacies to the ninth degree. Combine that with tighter refereeing and you will get a more solid game. But to be fair they have not taken it to the next level which is where they will find their southern counterparts. Rejoice though because with SA heading north an improving northern game is inevitable.

Get ready for the next world cup, SA are taking it again, 5th time champions. Most of the Bok players will be there including coaching staff, plus youngsters are fighting to get into the squad and prove themselves. Watch and see.

Northern hemisphere media completely underestimated southern hemisphere rugby. NZ and SA just have something else when it comes to knockout rugby.

I had always, from the Very Beginning felt, that those "pundits", commentators and experts who either ignored or were prepared to Discount/"write-off", "THE SPRINGBOKS", did so at their cost.. Needless I am Absolutely Delighted, that the Resilient and Valiant Men in the Iconic "Green and Gold",
despite facing the Most Arduous route to the final, were able to confound their critics and Go On to Squeeze an Amazing FOURTH TIME WIN of
THE RUGBY WORLD CUP.....INCREDIBLE.....!! " GO BOKKE "..!! HERO'S Not only to SOUTH AFRICA, But Also to Much of Africa and their Legions
of fans across the globe..!!

When are the UK and French refs going to stop cheating the S Hemisphere in Autumn tests.
Then also after that when are they going to stop cheating each other in the 6 nations.
It is mainly UK refereeing that has turned rugby in the most corrupt sport on the planet.
W Cup 2019 NZ made 79 penalize able mistakes and Ireland were totally cheated out. Yet no improvement since. World Rugby and Sir Bull Beaumont are sitting back as if all is well.
It was easy to predict that refereeing at W Cup 2023 would be a disaster !!!
Rassie warned about cheating and corruption but NZ, UK and France jumped down his throat. Lots of improvements could have been made. Heavy complaints by Ire, Eng, Fran and NZ after their losses !!!
SO EAT YOUR OWN MEDICINE - YOU GOT WHAT YOU DESERVE.
Part of Springboks mission was to teach NZ a lesson for their judiciary sentensing Rassie for a year. Also NZ asked SA to leave Super Rugby. Since SA have build strong ties with UK and France where the money is and they remain World Champions - also earning R120 000 000.
SO NZ TAKE THAT AND THAT AND THAT !!!

What a great game this is… the factors influencing a game are countless… technically we are all just passengers on this train… no one can really say they have it figured out… Right now Jacques and Rassie are the closest… but how long will that last? No one knows… Lets enjoy the ride and the games and the contests…

I think your predictions were fairly solid. But you know the Bokke. In 1995 I bought the first ever SA Rugby magazine. I was a student with no money but I entered a competition to guess the winner of every match at the tournament. I sent in my entry (much to my girlfriends disgust as we were broke) and a few months later found out that I won the competition (a brand new TV & VCR). That girlfriend forgave me and is now my wife of 30 years. GO BOKKE!!

My question is probably stupid as I don't understand all the rugby competitions but I'd like a simple explanation (so that I would understand): How come that Ireland had been #1 in the world before the WCR if they didn't also play against all southern hemisphere countries? How is that #1 position awarded?

The major problem that the NH teams experience is not skill or belief or any lack of talent..
It is the continued and consistent belief by their fans and media that they are OWED Rugby World Cup success.
When either Wales or Ireland or France have been successful they are built up to be the team (or teams) that will end SH dominance and "bring back Rugby".
SH Rugby is then written off, either in total or at least with the exception of the All Blacks.

My humble opinion: NH Rugby is simply not as good as it percieves itself to be. It doesn't compete on the same level as SH Rugby. The sooner the NH accepts this and goes to work fixing it, the sooner they WILL be competing for World Cups.

You have to feel for Ireland. Didn't lose a game since early 2022, beat South Africa, then barely lost to New Zealand in the only game they wouldn't afford to lose. At the end of it all are still number 2 in the world ranking!😢

To be fair, Pool C was the hardest to call. If I remember correctly, Fiji, Australia, Georgia and Wales were all ranked 8, 9, 10 , 11at one point , showing how closely matched they were.

Thanks a million Connor you at least tried and were very enjoyable to listen to, but for a few refereeing decisions you could have been correct. Plus if France didn't have the conversion run down (2Points) by Cheslin Kolbe, France win and if Conan grounded that ball for Ireland they also would have won, but they were 2 fantastic games. Thanks again, I'm an Ireland supporter by the way.
