China's Secret Russian Community: The Russian Chinese

Nothing to be surprised about. China shares the most borders with other countries, so one gotta expect people on both sides will share similar culture and ethnicities. In Southwestern China, they have their own version of the Thais, Laos. In Northwestern part, there's the Sherpas of Nepal who are grouped with the Tibetans as an ethnicity. In the Northeastern side, there's the ethnic Korean. In Western China sharing borders with a few central asian countries, there's also the Kazakhs, Uzbeks, Uighurs, Pamiri Tajiks, etc.There are also a lot of Pakistani having businesses in the western borders on China side. Prob one exception is though China and India share a border, the tall Himalayas separated any spillover from the Indian side. However, the Northeastern Indian do look very Chinese.

If China will for example annex Russia in whole or in part in the future, do you think that the Chinese government will give the Russian people more room to breathe than the current Russian Federation government? Will the Russian people annexed into China be treated well, with equal rights as Han Chinese? Will Russian culture be honored in China too? Will ethnic Russians be accepted into the Chinese civilization as equals, just like Manchurians and Hmong peoples?

But are they really secret? I was in Harbin, and saw Russian signs, and Russian style buildings, and met Russian-speaking people in the street.

This explains the puzzle. I met a guy who looks like me (Asian ) and said he's not Chinese, he's Russian. I was gonna say I'll be darn but shut my mouth cuz my own family looks d same and we're not even Chinese. Once in awhile this is the puzzles in my kids in school. Some other kids bully them and talked to them in gibberish Chinese. My younger one stepped on one of this kid foot in the cafeteria and told him off...I'm no Chinese.

I learned that Chinese goe treat Russian immigrants very well and one member of our family while Russia has killed all the Chinese people in East Siberia after Russia occupied there

Maybe to the West it's a surprise. But people in China is very natural on this. Russian Chinese are just like Han Chinese. All Chinese.

Vice versa, Asian part of Russia with their native people. They look Asians which they are of course but Russian citizens.

They are recognised as Chinese, only ethnically Russian , and not Russian Chinese . Only in USA the minorities are hyphenated, whether usa born or otherwise, like African- American or Asian -American.

Wow. In India too there are Portugese Indians whose mannerisms are totally Indian. White ladies can be seen in salwars chatting up with other mothers while waiting for their school kids. Meanwhile dads zoom around in mopeds in typical Indian riding posture. Upon God! In Pondicherry!

Some Han chinese actors look mixed. They are usually from cities in northeastern china. Vengo gao and zhang yuxi are examples. Im assuming they have russiam admixture in them.

Many of Russian Chinese citizens registered as Han Chinese. The reason is simple. When they were granted Chinese citizenship, Russian was not considered a Chinese ethnic group. They chose Han as their ethnic group when they filled the forms.
