Does it work on a JVC crt tv too? I found it from 4 months ago and I noticed the display looks curve and not straight so I was wondering if it can be fix or is it only just the sony trinitrons?

I wish I had the balls to open up my crt. The lines on my crt in the corners are all crooked. It annoys me but not to the point that I wanna risk death or pooping myself.

Hello on my CRT TV the image is arched downwards, could I use a magnet or mangets to fix it and get it straighter? Thanks

Hey Guys, im new in the CRT Game and have a Sony Trinitron with one corner slightly off. I've checked the Tube and I have one strip in exact that corner.

Now the question, can i touch the tube wherever I want, when its on?

From what I hear you can make convergent strips with just pieces of cardstock, double-sided tape and the rolls of cheap magnet that you can buy at the hardware store

I need to do this with my KV-27FS210 I found working
Do need to get new ports on the tv I think they are going bad also the RF connector is missing but I can still use the same video and some of the composite ports.
But definally needs to be serviced and cleaned out.

When i found it, it was at a apartment complex and nobody really knows why it was just sitting in the area only one person knew the police put it in the spot and nothing else I also had to lift it on a office chair and push it to my vehicle all by myself the thing is so heavy it took me like 20 minutes just to move it.
I didn't know if it worked or not until I brung it home and used a extension cord to see if it powered on.

Does the same corner concept apply to bottom corners?? My bottom right corner has this exact issue

Why you don;t use a mirror? Back in 90' and 80' when CRT was still a thing, TV repair workshops had a mirror on every bench to observe the screen while manipulating inside the device.

I need to do this on my Trinitron but honestly this kind of work seems scary. I don’t want to take the chance unless I got a guy with a defibrillator on the sidelines lol

Nice video Steve! I saw that you wore safety gloves in another video about convergence strips, now I can see that your not wearing them. Is it safe to adjust these convergence strips with the TV on, with no gloves?

Is this the same on a consumer tv like the Sony Trinitron KV-14T1 I have which has the same kind of bend corners?

Sorry, I’m confused. Am I able to reposition and tape down the plastic strips that are already in my current CRT or do I have to replace the strip entirely with ones from another CRT?

Is it only PVM that have these strips? Do consumer TVs have them?

hi steve, i got some of those strips from a smashed tv monitor i found on the street trash. but looking at the video i really can't understand where does the magnetic part has to go, i see you moving the strip arround but the magnetic end of the strip has to go really deep towards the copper narrow area of the crt? or magnet can go anywhere in the black back area? whats the difference putting a magnet in the top black area and difference putting magnet in the bottom narrow area near the copper?

This works also on jvc broadcast like tm 1750? I have also the right bottom falling down

How to picture tube charge

Very helpful, I've just done my own arcade monitor build with a 19" tv tube and a Hantarex Chassis + yoke for my street fighter 2 machine, I've got the convergence rings spot on but one corner won't converg right luckily I had some strips on the old tube and only 1 strip fixed the corner issue, cheers.

i bought a Samsung tantus CRT "hdtv" and i was expecting to have great retro experience init.. wrong.. that thing looks horrible. Edges seems to have some kind og chromatic aberration, image is not clean, like a some noise in it.. disgusting.. I refuse to believe it is how it supouse to look, i guess i will have to take it to service.

The top left corner of my crt is showing a separation of color. Like a shadow effect. Is that the same issue? How can I fix that?

My TV has the exact same problem.

Are those strips and magnets on all trinitrons inside? I have consumer one a flat screen wega fd trinitron with a slight bit of that in the top left hand corner but no where else. Would I need to adjust it like that or with the focus pot as it's slightly out of focus aswell and bending down in the corner? Or is it a service menu fix? 🤔

My bvm has that ssme issue. Do they also have those strips inside?

Hey Steve, I’ve been tinkering in a couple PVMs I have and I found that some magnets did a great job to clear up some corner purity issues, but for corner convergence 2 different sets of convergence strips I obtained do absolutely nothing. Is there a reason they would have no effect on the screen?

what about when images kinda puff during scene changes in games, like going from bright to dark.

Can this be done on any tv? my flatscreen Toshiba 27'' warps the image like hell and i need to fix it.
