I've gotten into a somewhat unique situation with possibly a PU with a Republic that I was wondering if someone would know the result for.

I'm currently playing as a Pirate Republic Great Britain (Munster -> Ireland -> Great Britain), and I'm now finally at war with France, and I have occupied their capital for the mission that would award a Force Union cb. Does this actually work, even though I am a republic? I can click the mission, and it says it awarded me the Force Union cb (though I save-scummed it back to before clicking it). I'm still at early stages in my war with France, and depending on the outcome of that mission and whether the cb works or not, it would change how I want to play out the rest of my war. If I do somehow get the Force Union cb, does it even work as a Republic?

I'm currently in Ironman mode, so I'm limited in how far I can save-scum to see what happens.

I did two non bohemian achevements as Bohemia. For the Emperor as Prussia and Triple the Rome as Russia. They have strong start.

im playing austria... i got BOHEMIA pu, then HUNGARY pu, then POLAND & LITHUANIA pu, then BURGUNDY pu (plus pu's of all of NETHERLANDS nations), then MILAN pu, then NAPLES pu.
Im wondering... why did france decide it could easily survive attacking Burgundy's vassal nevers? France must be really brave.
France - 70 k troops... Me & my Pu's - 240k troops. I dont think ive ever had anyone declare war on me before on normal difficulty. How come France is so dumb?

Also Rassids into Yemen into Arabia run??? It's quite hard but worthwhile (The Rassid space marines with 4.5 morale in 1450 are so good)

I would say a more efficient way of doing this is to ally poland, rival hungary and austria, and then Hungary and Austria will .usually ally each other. So you can attack Hungary for slovakia, while humiliating Austria in the peace deal to complete the austria mission. This is fairly contingent on Poland getting the PU over Lithuania / vassalizing Moldavia, as otherwise you won't be able to win the war against Hungary and Austria simultaneously. Would be able to get where you were about 20 years earlier or so.

actually if you 1821 and then back to 1444 in nation selection screen hre will have religious peace and you can become emperor while hussite, ofcourse if they didn't change with last patch

There is another method I use to avoid coalitions. If you guarantee independence of a nation and then immediately revoke it one month later you will be given a five year truce. Nations in a truce with you may not declare war upon you.

Obviously there is a chance the coalition will fire before you can guarantee them all, but if you do it before the peace deal you have a better chance of it not firing.

For example, I’m currently playing a game as France without any powerful allies. I conquered all of English France, half of Aragon, Burgundy is fully integrated and, by a stroke of luck, through a succession war I managed to snag a fully intact Austria. Despite all of those gains the coalition was absolutely massive. Through the guarantee strategy, I managed to stave off the coalition from firing. In the meantime of guaranteeing everyone you improve relations and do not declare wars. It’s not a bad strategy, but it does require you to be quick with diplomacy. You can reset truces by guaranteeing a nation before the five year truce expires thus giving you another truce.

Have to disagree about catholic Bohemia being easier. Hussite Bohemia is much much easier

When I was playing Bohemia I got Poland,Lithuania,Hungary,Burgundy,France,Spain and Russia on PU

west slavic is one of the best culture in game. You get some of the best farmland for dev. You have no manpower probelm because of grain provinces. You cann access baltic from prussia easily. It has two frigging gold mines.

I don't think that hussite bonuses are better than protestant.

Really cool country, haven't thought about this elective monarchy mechanic but it seems hella fun
Also 2 things: doesn't making Brandenburg(or any other elector) a vassal lose you 0.1 IA monthly because of subjugation of the elector? Converting them to PU through missions could be better for HRE runs
And when you do make an Austria guide, remember about this Czech monument in Prague - when you take it in a peace deal with PU it keeps it's first level with 0.05 IA monthly
(when you convert it, possible with coring, accepting Czech culture, de-coring, burning 1 dev, concentrating dev, 2 privileges for clergy for missionary strength, advisor and core with state edict. Seems like a lot but easy really)

you know its a powerful country when you can either go Hussite or stay Catholic and you can dominate the game so easily. Bohemian Emepror also gets the extra reform progress but Hussite one is funnier to paint the religious map with. "Sir, Luther is rebellion against the Catholic Church. The what? That two provinces religion down in rome?"
