Just curious, how often do you have to get a new soldering mat? Mine get goobery and sticky and I don't do a ton of soldering, I imagine yours get slimy fast.

Drops are detrimental to bga chips... One cracked ball and she's goobered. Always fun to watch you work.

The information, that when one USB-C controller chip gets bad on a PC laptop with two USB-C (therefore - two such chips), you have to replace both chips - that's really important one - thanks!

Without low-melt solder it is nearly impossible to remove connectors without melting them. Low-melt solder is a must.
