If anyone should be complaining it should be the clubs in the Premier League. The fact they get the same amount of spots in the champions league as La Liga and the Bundesliga is an absolute joke. Outside of the top 4 clubs in each of those leagues not a single club could play one season in the Premier League without getting relegated . La Liga should have 3 spots, Bundesliga 2 spots and Premier League 7 spots

So how did football survive two World Wars? How did it survive the huge drop in attendances, to a fraction of what they are today, between the end of the 1950's and early 1980's? How did it survive the upsurge in hooliganism during the 1970's and '80's? How did it survive when there were no shirt sponsors and no, (then later, very few) televised matches? How did the English clubs manage after the mid 1980's, when they were banned from European competition for a while? How did Barcelona survive, when they went 30 years, winning just TWO La Ligia Titles, between the start of the 1960's and start of the 1990's, plus no champions Leagues/European Cups, until 1992? How did Manchester United manage to survive winning just ONE major trophy of ANY sort, after 1968 and prior to 1983 (and no more leagues until 1993!)? (I'm excluding their 1975 SECOND Division Title here!) How did Man City survive playing in the English THIRD Flight in 1999? In fact how did City, Man United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Juventus and AC Milan survive their relegations since the mid 1970's? (The latter two for involvement in match fixing scandals!) How were Hibernian FC, from that "farmers league", in Scotland, able to afford to put a message on their shirts, thanking the National Health Service in the midst of the Covid crisis, when they could have got a shirt sponsor instead?

But, of course, more people are probably following football, than at any time in history, so of course, logically it somehow cannot survive today and needs "saving"! (Even if Péreze's claims that HALF the Earth's population would watch an ESL are delusional claptrap!)

"Four billion watching a few teams play?" That just shows how delusional he is! Four billion is more than half the population of the whole Earth! No one with any sense would think that anywhere close to that proportion of the World's population will ever watch football, never mind that only a fraction of the actual total would have watched this so called "Super League"!
