ОтветитьNicely done sir. Great camera angle, but most importantly using the metronome to aid your timing is imperative. Thanks
ОтветитьSimply the best teacher - Great story telling too. Thank you so much AAG!
ОтветитьDo you have a PDF with chords in a chart please
Ответитьwhat a gorgeous 00 guitar! can you tell me what it is?
ОтветитьThe transition from the Am in measure #8 to the C9 in measure #9 is nasty to do @ speed. The problem is moving the middle finger off the "A" to get it onto the "C" without prematurely truncating the ringing of the "A". I watched this video closely for that. I think his solution was to prematurely lift the middle finger off the "G" string to head for the "C" on the "A" string. Goes by so quickly you can hardly notice, but on beat #4 in measure #8 I think he's playing an "E" and a "G", not an "E" and an "A".
ОтветитьOutstanding!!

ОтветитьNew subscriber here! At last a teacher that teaches picking the way it should be. Even an old git like me can now learn. Excellent lesson and tune choice.
ОтветитьReally good tutorial thanks .
I spent months over the lock downs practicing travis picking and did get a bit of muscle memory going ,,,discipline and practice is required !
Nice work. And agree with the camera angle comment. Thanks
ОтветитьGreat instruction!!! Thanks
ОтветитьThanks for the visual and explanation, this style is exactly how I learn. Added bonus: your right hand has "regular" finger nail length, I don't want to grow my nails out just to play the guitar, and it was nice to see I don't have to.
ОтветитьYou ever played the song Under the Bridge by the Chili Peppers?
I love Kansas and Dust in the Wind and as someone who was a kid in the 80’s and 90’s I love music from the greatest 3 decades ‘65-‘95 which in my opinion created at least 95% of the greatest music ever produced.
Anyway, when you were going through the lesson, at times I kept hearing parts of the Chili Peppers song, which I live too.
Thought you may like to play it if you haven’t already. 🤙🏻
What guitar is that?
Ответитьvery patient and thorough -- nice lesson. you're a natural
ОтветитьGreat lesson!
ОтветитьThanks a lot!!
ОтветитьIs that a nylon string( classical guitar?)
ОтветитьYea we did it, I mean you did it con Gray's.
ОтветитьWhat's the hurry,is there a sale on somewhere? Lol.
ОтветитьIt even sounds good at 138.
ОтветитьSeen several videos about this song/Travis picking, and this is by far the best! Great angle of the cam! Thank you!
ОтветитьThank you so much! I can't understand why more people can't present like this! So much easier to understand for a beginner.
ОтветитьProbably the best how to play song tutorial I've seen
ОтветитьHi thank you, you’ve made my day. I woke up and accidentally YT showed me your tutorial. It was really fun and it was super simple to follow your awesome instructions. Everyone shou follow you how to properly make finger picking tutorials. 6 hours later am on 192bpm. Thank you sir 👍🙏
ОтветитьThis is beyond awesome, and awesomely helpful! You, Sir, have a new subscriber!
ОтветитьOnce you said 1/4 note then the 8th notes, I figured out what I've been doing wrong. Now, on to working thru the chord changes...
Ответить👏👏
ОтветитьHe really knows the basics of teaching to new learners!
ОтветитьFinally you can see where the fingers are exactly. And you explained it well. ❤️
ОтветитьVery good video man. Thank you so much. Great teaching skills
ОтветитьNow I got to go play the song….
ОтветитьOutstanding training!
ОтветитьBrilliant to see the angle showing which strings to play.I never catch it when the teacher says either finger names or the strings New subscriber ! Thank you.
ОтветитьThanks for the fantastic camera angles
ОтветитьNot criticizing your instructional video, but I'm getting tired people calling all fingerstyle guitar "Travis picking."
It's not.
Travis picking is a style where there is a heavily muted distinct bass with the melody then played on top.
Eg; Fuller Blues, Memphis Blues instrumentals.
There.
Got that off my chest.
super helpful thank you :)
ОтветитьExcellent video
ОтветитьThe best lesson I have seen❤,very well explained and very couraging
ОтветитьSincere thanks! Well done—nice pace and very clear instruction and video.
ОтветитьBagus sekali petikan gitarnya
ОтветитьTHANK YOU! I finally feel inspired to learn a song and stay with it. I really appreciate the way you took the steps progressively and your encouragement along the way!
ОтветитьGreat camera angles .. everything is super clear to understand.. Although I play . Several styles . And always favored Bluegrass. I recently came back to Bluegrass a d at the age of 65 , learned how to flatpick.
But never properly learned the Merle Travis roll .. Now at 66 ..I finally will .
Never too old to learn Folks .
