I see this idea got more innovated over the years.

Back then I played with a Bluetooth app allowing me to use it for video chatting back in 2010-2011 but now we have baby monitors apps which do the same thing by Bluetooth or wifi...their where'd other apps before baby monitor apps which use the app as a security camera using the iPhone or iPod touch 4 gen. and the PC act as a monitor via same wifi connection in 2011.....but I guess that's old news now.

It's a great concept and it generally works, but it's very buggy. For example, it keeps recording motion and sending me alerts even after I shut off Motion Detection. So annoying... "Manything" is another App that tries to do this same thing, and it works about as well as "Presence," which is to say: so-so.
