They had such a good thing going with Dawn of war 1 until darl crusade. I really disliked the new direction they took.

I miss the amount of units and base building from DoW1 :(.

I highly highly preferred Dawn of war II to the original. I have no attachment to base building, and I thought the skirmish structure was fun, especially once you get late into the campaign and have a preferred team of heroes, and have their selection buttons and abilities on muscle memory, it flows really well.

To be fair, I think the blood ravens are the one chapter that does take enemy tech for themselves, so that part checks out

I found out about this game through ondrid casts. The elite mod matches are kickass.

Honestly seeing AlfaBusa in the coop screen kinda has me hoping we eventually see something like "Emp's and Kitten play dawn of war II"

i just wanted a second DOW but thatll never happen.

I actually really liked Dawn of War 2 despite being a huge Dawn of War: Dark Crusade player both on and offline. It gave me a nice change of pace and I could go from one to the other and not wonder why I am wasting time with two identical games.

Man i wish they made DoW 2 easy to mod like DoW1. It could make it eternal by the community. Like people are still buying DoW1 for the mods.

I really loved how they integrated the lore of the Blood Ravens of the previous game into this, trying something new.
Where you could smash your enemies like a hammer with force of numbers and massed firepower, now you must be the scalpel:
A surgical strike team that kills waves of enemies, destroying the objective, getting the hell out of there and leaving the imperial guard to hold the line. Very lore accurate in my opinion. The tactical aspect is less important in the late game, but it’s pretty much vital in the early and mid game to do things carefully, slow and steady paced, like a pro.
Not like a HOI4 player.

Eldar and humans never colaborate mostly cuz eldars would sacrafice a planet full of humans for a single eldar and vice versa.

I remember asking where my army is on reddit once. Considering the responses, I think I forgot to mention it's Dawn of War 2 and not 1.

The skirmish AI is like LotR Battle for Middle Earth 2’s. Those run their troops right past yours sometimes just to destroy your base!

This game is heresy. There is a reason people actually play the original titles with mods. Cause the Dawn of war is where we could fight for planets and make a difference. Not tiny skirmishes against enemies, that are supposed to be overwhelming ins numbers and firepower.

Hey I got DoW 2 on steam before a few days and I really enjoy it so far and I'm wondering, is it worth buyin the Grand Master Collection or should I get the Chaos Rising DLC?

So we get retribution/chaos rising in another 2 years yes?
