STOP Using GoDaddy!!

Yeah, everything he says in this video is true. They make it almost impossible to do basic tasks without wanting to punch something or someone.

Someone offered me 10k for my website, when I turned them down, my site was reported and taken down. After disputing with GD they said it was taken down in error and I could put it back up. All of my design was GONE. This was when SquareSpace + GoDaddy was popular, GoDaddy blamed me for not backing up the site and wouldn't help get the design back. AVOID. AT. ALL. COST.

In few words: They're just a rip-off.

OMG, thank you so much on the nameserver. That was my issue, and I was dreading having to call support. I have used other domain service platforms in the past and never had any issues. I figured I'd give GoDaddy a try, because I hear of them so often. So, I got my domain, and its just been problem after problem. Not to mention, you can't do anything, without purchasing additional services. Its so frustrating. I'm going to try to transfer as soon as I can.

i just created a domain through Godaddy and i still couldn't connected to my shopify store i'm so mad because i baughted and i can't use it what is going on ? i tried to solve it but it seems i always ended up the same place it is TRASH can anyone help me please ?

My experience yesterday with GoDaddy is EXACTLY what Craylor says in this video. 4 phone support techs all told me something different. When I didn't want to buy their upgrade services, I was put on hold and given the run around. HORRIBLE support.

They just bilked $400 out of me for a service I didn’t sign up for. I was able to get $200 refunded but I’m out. Currently trying to transfer my site. Not sure what I’m doing so wish me luck!

I used GoDaddy for quite a few years but knew to ignore the sales pitches. I experienced very good customer service, which was one of the things that kept me with them for so long. There were many occasions where I needed to call at 3am with a problem. I was able to speak with a US-based person who could steer me in the right direction.

However, I started to notice how other web hosts had much snappier servers. Load times were quicker, back-ups were created more quickly, and I was able to download files faster. The kicker was that GoDaddy would be turning off all of the free email accounts that they'd provided to me over the many years of making purchases with them. So, scrambling to find another email host, I figured I would move my domains off, too. I found Name Cheap, which have been great over the last few years along with BlueHost, which I recently left because of poor customer service and poor hosting experiences. I'm now at Hostinger. So far, so good.

I was double charged for 8 months. Though I received no extra services, they called it my fault, said they wouldn't refund. I guess their business model is get it while you can, and forget working with long term customers. Won't be going back to those frauds again.

So who would you recommend for building an online shop?

Godaddy stinks. After many years, I finally moved on and glad I did.

Name cheap is a Go Daddy company

Go daddy banned my swim school business from obtaining payment without any explanation. They've refunded my clientele and now I have no reason to use their platform if I can't receive money through their platform

Oh my where do I start on how awful is godaddy. It would be so awesome if you can make a video w step buy step instructions on how to migrate. I live in fear that godaddy will steal back our Microsoft 365 emails, painfully migrated from the clutches of an accidental ‘365’ purchase on godaddy. What a nightmare

I wish I knew before, my domain is pointing to Hostinger but Goddady is still sending me bills for domain renewal. They also don't send their email in English! Very very annoying.

SCAM! I’ve been a client of GoDaddy for 10 plus years. Their customer service has always been terrible. I use the basic Linux hosting, not the one they are always trying to up sell you too. In fact I’m sure they want to get rid of all their old customers who are on the basic and more cost effective plans. Recently, due to theft, I needed to update my payment details but I’m not in Australia and don’t have access to my Australian phone number as used for the two factor authentication. I tried to remove the 2FA but they took so long that my payment became overdue. This morning I discovered my accounts suspended and my main domain up for sale to the highest bidder. Six hours and four illiterate help desk personnel later and I have no improvement. This is going to cost my business dearly. I had been planning of cutting ties with GoDaddy but got lazy. Don’t let this happen to you.

I just got a namecheap hosting plan because of this video 😅. I was doing some research on GoDaddy and your comments finally convinced me to not go with them. Thank you!

My girlfriend bought a domain name from GoDaddy in 2018. Yesterday, I logged into her GoDaddy account and saw that she had been paying monthly for Linux cPanel hosting for over 5 years, costing her hundreds of dollars!! When I asked her about it, she said she thought she needed it, even though her website was hosted on Squarespace. Another victim of sneaky GoDaddy "add-ons" 😥

They are frauds, you search for a domain for few times and then others sites to compare, the price, next thing you will see is it has come under a broker with high price.

Ok so I purchased a domain name from GoDaddy, then suddenly I am receiving several solicitor phone calls, quite a coincidence i would say, so much for safe.

GoDaddy has the worst customer service ever. I’ve spent many hours the last 3 weeks on the phone with them and they have lied to me and have incompetent and rude staff. So disappointed in them so I’m changing to someone else.

Media Temple was my web host for 20+ years and they were great. Then it was purchased by GoDaddy and it was terrible. The experience you showed about changing the nameservers was exactly my experience. Making any change was very complicated and it always seemed like they were trying to sell me something I didn't want or need.. I have since switched to DreamHost.

I have been using GoDaddy for 15 years....Products are the best in the world, but customer service is horrible...absolutely horrible, terribly horrible.

What do you do if you don't want to submit personal ID to godaddy for the 2 step verification. They say they need a color photo with all my information on it. I asked why do you need a color photo of me if you never seen me for verification? No response, just upload the ID. I haven't even been using the 2 step verification since February '23. They provide a pin and customer service number, and would not help any other way except with a picture ID. Sadly, I don't think I need to share my passport or DL for a website. I'm only adding content and nothing else.

i've wasted over TWO YEARS with these people. I start to build my site, get frustrated because the builder is garbage, and put it on the back burner...then I repeat the process. this ends today.
