How to solve it
4b, if b=3 for example, 3•4= 12+5= 17, if our answer equals 1 + 5b that means that b=3 = 5•3= 15+1=16! So the answer cannot be 3, basically work your way up, this is how i learnt it and im sure there are other ways too

4b b=4 = 4x4, 16 + 5 = 21 which means 5b = 5x4= 20+1
