I might be a bit late, but this is a great video so I had to leave a comment. It is by far the best one I've seen on Git, carefully explaining basic concepts while also making it practical. Excellent work, David! Thank you for sharing it with us.
ОтветитьThis is the best way to explain things. Thanks for the lesson! Liked and Subscribed.
ОтветитьWhen trying to restore S2 from a previous commit, doesn't git checkout <commit hash> <file> lead to a detached HEAD? How did the subsequent commit of that restoration continue at the end of the branch rather than from <commit hash>?
ОтветитьThanks for this. I'm a long-time SVN user migrating to Git and although I've used it in other teams, administering the migration process has me in a right pickle.
Looking forward to the next two videos.
can you explain the reason why a staging area is necessary as well? It is not obvious to me
Ответитьgreat video
ОтветитьMagnificent explanation. Thanks for sharing this material so well-structured and easy to follow!
ОтветитьI watched this video a couple years ago when i know little English and now I rewatch this again just to realised yours git video series is the best I've seen so far. I'd refer anyone to need to know git to here
ОтветитьThis is by far the best introduction about Git.
Ответитьvery good video, clear and easy to understand
ОтветитьClear and straight to the point! Very helpful:))
ОтветитьFantastic. This is a great way of presenting the concepts. Thank you David
ОтветитьSweet sir
ОтветитьVery well done! Only thing I might do differently, is add ".gitignore" to the .gitignore file itself so that it isn't tracked. That way if the repo is shared among different devs or members, they can all have their own gitignore settings.
ОтветитьThe best explanation . you are the master
ОтветитьA+
ОтветитьUnfortunately we can only like once. Thank you .
ОтветитьВидео огонь!
ОтветитьWould git restore --staged S1 do the same thing as git reset HEAD S1?
ОтветитьBest video about git so far I have seen. Thanks Dave.
ОтветитьThanks a lot for your thorough explanation with the comparison between visualisation of diagrams and practical git examples
ОтветитьVery Nicely compiled video. Thanks for that.😇
ОтветитьNobel Prize for Git Tutorial!!!
ОтветитьSO impressed by your thoroughness and clarity. You are very articulate and well spoken, the diagrams illustrate your talking points extremely well, it's not overly complicated, you highlight items on the screen that you are speaking to, and you revisit new ideas/concepts regularly - all of which are extremely helpful for new learners. This is fantastic!
ОтветитьThe background and workflow was really helpful thanks.
Could you provide a little more insight into the use of submodules? What is the best way to incorporate a new library within the communal library repository and push the change to the orgin of that repo and not just the specific project?
thx work
ОтветитьAmazing explanation of the Git Core Concepts. Thanks a lot.
ОтветитьYou don't just show and share your knowledge, but you also show that teaching is an art as well!!! Thank you!
Ответитьcommits = snapshots
ОтветитьThank you!
Ответитьthis is great
Ответитьthis video was absolutely amazing! extremely helpful
ОтветитьBest video on Git

Ответитьin 2022 and still great
ОтветитьIncredible quality
ОтветитьAwesome job! This is the best git tutorial I've come across. Thanks!
ОтветитьIs it me or does he say "git" exactly like "get" about 90% of the time?
ОтветитьExcellent explanation. Helpful and straight forward.
ОтветитьBy far the best video on the topic.
Ответитьwhy do you call it "gEt"? it's not pronounced "gEt".
Ответитьawesome presentation
Ответитьthanks
ОтветитьSaved my life, thank you for this excellent explanation!
