Writing can take hours and hours, but when you look around, it doesn’t take that for everyone. How can you boost your writing speed so you can spend more time doing actual work, or making plans and key connections and alliances?

First, focus on consistency. When you learn how to write on command, either by regularity of schedule or freeing your fingers to allow your thoughts to flow readily, you won’t have to spend all the time spooling up and getting into the right headspace.

Second, understand that the freedom and time to focus on or produce quality is earned. You can’t focus on world-changing ideas and missives, declarations and manifestos until you’ve learned how to communicate effectively and regularly first.

Put constraints on your writing until you’re showing up every day and able to generate decent quality on-time every time. Set limits so you can focus on building consistency.
