All the buttons have words that could mean something in an animals life. So the human can always `hear` some meaning. There should also be buttons with gibberish words, or words like `supernova`, `solenoid`, ´oil rig`.

First, this is hilarious. The added dimension of being able to demonstrate what you want to say without actually saying it is pretty fresh. The word button equivalent to sarcasm, I guess?

Second, I have no idea what is going on in the comments. There's literally videos of a cat using buttons just to say what he intends to do that day (which is hilarious because it's a cat), and that he hates one of the other cats in the house. That most certainly isn't a good way to get food or treats as a response. In this example, Russell was denied two different things that he wanted. That whole "push button = reward" thing really working out, I guess.

Sometimes these talking button pet videos remind me of using a device to talk to ghosts. Askimg very specific often yes/no questions and getting typically one word responses that sort of make sense through the medium.

There are currently about 6500 human languages being used. Humans have yet to speak coherently to any other sentient being.

Since Russell is the only one of your kitties to use the Buttons, do you ever interact with him without him using the Buttons? I love that he communicates with you (he's a brilliant boy!), but sometimes I feel like both of you are missing out on something important. I'm not criticizing, just curious observation with oodles of respect for teaching him to use "his words!"

My sis' older cat just meows a lt at me so I think he is just an old man who just wants to talk. I like the idea of training cats to use the buttons to communicate with us, because it can get frustrated that I don't know what the old man cat wants. 🤣🤣🤣

See even without button I don't teach them broken English they know "you" "dont" even after a while she did too cuz like.... They're way smarter than even the buttons and she clearly knows that too lol...just unfortunately buttons are as close to teach translation as we can get right now 😓
