How To Connect A Soundbar | HDMI, ARC, Optical, Coaxial, Bluetooth

Hi, if the soundbar I'm thinking of getting doesn't have hdmi but has optical should I skip and look for one having hdmi arc connection?

OMG! After having my Vizio soundbar for a couple of years, I finally took it out of the box and decided to try and hook it up. So, I read the first couple of pages of the quick start guide (which was 3/4 of an inch thick), and then I needed help with which audio cable to use and which por😢ts to use. Well, my first search came up with this video. I kid you not, I listened to no more than 15 seconds of your video and I am now listening to my soundbar! I cannot vouch for the rest of this video, but it sure told me what to do in my situation in the first 15 seconds. Thank you so much!!!

What's your advice if your sound bar has an Optical port, but no HDMI and your TV has an HDMI port but no Optical port ?

I have my sound bar connected to my TV. Both are Samsung I have it with digital optical. My only problem is the sound bar won't turn on with I turn on my TV. Is there something I can do to set that up? Please help.

I have a. TCL QLED 4K Model R646 Google tv. I've had this since Thanksgiving sale of 2021. I've been using a Nakamichi NK12 sound with it during this time with no problems at all. Suddenly 6 days ago it won't connect tv keep showing ARC not connected. I've tried everything to get it to work. Tried unplugging HDMI many times. Tried resetting tv every tried resetting to factory settings. Still showing ARC NOT connected. First thought it could be the sound bar but sound bar is working fine I've connected to my bedroom tv and it's working fine. I just bought a TCL 5.1 sound bar today it's connected correctly but still showing ARC not connected. Can any telling what's going on. Is there's something wrong with the ARC on the tv itself. If so then I will have to get best buy to fix it. I bought the extended warranty. This how matter has got me EXTREMELY ANGRY. Ive looked up connecting soundbar on TCL website followed instruction to the letter even folloed your instruction which are the same as theirs. My tv DOES NOT HAVE CEC why could you plesse tell me why? TCL instruction also say go to system then go to CEC

When I plug in the HDMI cord the sound from the TV stops but no sound comes from the sound bar😩

I am trying to use the analog sound connection but there is not sound coming out of the soundbar. I’m not sure if I have to change the setting on the TV or click something on the soundbar. Please help!

I hooked up mine using HDMI eARC which was successful but now I don’t receive any audio through my Optic outlet feeding my Phonak TV Connector which feeds my Kirkland/Phonak hearing aid.

Prior to hooking up the new soundbar I could listen to the tv audio with my hearing aid as well as through TV internal speakers. Also I could mute TVspeaker sound and still hear perfect audio from my hearing aid.

What do I do to restore my Optic output sound to my hearing aid?

I purchased a Sony T.V And Sony sound bar and the T.V keeps reverting sound back to T.V speakers, How do I fix this?

Thank you for the help!! My son told me what cable to buy since I have an older wired sound bar. I couldn't figure out how to get it to work...didn't realize I had to go thru audio instead of directly to sound bar. Works perfectly now...thanks again for the help!! 😊

The funny part is my sound bar has two hdmi ports. One says hdmi in, and the other says hdmi out / arc. Neither say to tv lol

Let me know how you look up yourselves on Roku hook up to your Roku TV. Your sound bar to hook up is the Samsung sound bar to hook up to your Roku 43 inch TV to connect to your AT&T DIRECTV receiver and your DVD player from AT&T❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
