Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Campaign: Spoiler Free Review

Nail on the head for most of it… however, what I will say was the point about not understanding it if you haven’t played the previous games like 19 and 22. This game is Modern Warfare 3. It’s the third instalment. Like if we look at the original trilogy, you won’t understand why soaps heavily. Why he’s on the stretcher. You won’t understand why there is a war going on in NYC.

Sequels rely on you to have consumed the previous piece of media to understand the current one. That’s the whole point of a sequel, it builds off the story of the previous instalment

Open world missions weren’t as good as advertised. Story I liked but still left me with some questions although some were answered. I dunno I’m like 50/50 on it

I give story around 7.5 or 8 out of 10. 🤷‍♂️

At this point they should just charge like $30 for the campaign only cause that’s all I play

uh. I think it's pretty obvious he kills shepherd because he learned his lesson in keeping his enemies alive. Y'know, with makarov. The whole exchange Price and Shepherd had on the ice is a clear indicator to this.

I agree with this. I think why I felt disappointed and didn't like the story was because the game just wasn't fun to play. the open combat missions were dull, and when you're playing through a game that is not fun to play, it definitely shades how you feel about the story.

I was hoping to see a mission similar to “enemy of my enemy is your friend” from Og MW2 where makarov men is fighting against shadow company

This is just my own thought but they could lead into a wolrd war in this story and might make that game world at war like a reboot for that or make it into a squal. This is somthing similar to what Makarov did in og mw3

Gameplay itself was fun. Story was the biggest load of dog shit I’ve ever seen
I liked the gameplay in this game way more than those stupid ass jump from car to car or swim silently in the docks that MW2022 had

The campaign is mid to good, its not as ground breaking like the other campaign I've watched or played, but it does bring new (kinda) to table like O.C.M (open combat mission's) i know its like DMZ but smaller but it makes a good training mission for DMZ, Pros OG Ghost nice Riley cameo nice nice, for the "elephant in the room." The campaign is way too short, i feel like there's more but they cut half of it off and how they tell the story is just bad

I think the cliffhanger is done to set us up to fork over $30-40 to buy DLCs to get the rest of the storyline, outside of WZ or MWZ

I didnt watch the whole video because i have not beaten the game yet but I agree 100% story is great, gameplay is alright.

For me the sorting of the missions felt off. Like we just jump from point to point with seemingly no connection. For example: why was Shepherd suddenly captured and freed by us? Don't know it's just like this. And finally I think things went a bit too easy for the main characters. Why would everyone just believe Farah, that her fighter was used for the bomb? There was no evidence for her innocence besides her just saying: "she didn't want to do it". All seems like a missed opportunity :/

Warzone is going to be the death of call of duty

We(the players) are the real people to blame for COD MW3 poor campaign because we allowed Activison to release 70$ games for cash grab only.We should either wait for the lowest price on sales or not buy the games at all and start demanding better campaign with longer hours to complete as well as better optimization for the games.I'm tired of making space for a 178/200 gb game that I finish in 3-4 hours(8 hours in some cases).
My primary reason for buying COD games is for the campaign and less for the multiplayer.
In time I will even stop buying the games at thier lowest price.
Let's just hope that XBOX will do a better job with the Call of Duty franchise.

You’re right even a little cutscene where 141 is asking laswell where makarov went to chase him down and she has no intel and he’s gone into hiding, for now, and the boys are pissed would tie it all up

I’m happy we got the overwatch mission but I agree I prefer the on rails action set piece action movie missions BY FAR

First things first. I hate they killed soap off after we had one game with him. After the original mw3 and the relationship that developed between him and price was just trashed. I also think Yuri should’ve been the much much much more of a badass and playable because we had a connection with him in the og series. They should have shared some sort of background as to why he is helping Laswell for instance his Hate for Makarov. I hate they killed soap.


I also want to add that I love the open combat missions it give me some reason to go back thru and collect all the weapons and gear and I love that I can do it stealthily or loud. Always loved that in games. I do agree cod’s legendary missions have been the ones like you say on rails. But I love the open combat missions

Just a Theory?

Guys Soap is actually alive, survives headshot and just because we saw the ashes doesn’t mean they’re his. Could be any of the goons dumped in the subway. And when they pour the ashes, the camera zooms out to the gunship or some Russian plane recording them. And Soap is actually healing to go into deep cover as another ghost and that’s why Laswell is classifying the documents 🤯. I need him alive because he’s literally my main in warzone lol, don’t judge me I’m coping, should’ve been Gaz! Should’ve been a lot of things but soap got played dirty😅

With how the mw3 campaign went it really shows how this game was originally going to be a dlc and it’s just dumb how people will still defend this bullshit. This is basically all I got from this campaign, makorov escapes prison, and soap dies, done that’s it, nothing else really happens.

Now I understand why they put all of the og mw2 maps in mw3 2023 they’re gonna lean heavily on that to get people to buy it other than that it’s just like last years game exactly the same

Admittedly, the gameplay aspect was good and I am looking forward to the PVP.

If you liked the story, then great. Good for you, but it has nothing to do with whether people are invested in the MW story or not.

70$ for 3 hours of gameplay with cutscenes includes is just not it

Campaign felt like black ops cold war but the storyline like CW was amazing also jumping back to 2017 Verdansk before we were there in 2019. But the ending. hope there is ghost part 2 soon

I mean they have the talent for characters and the voice actors bring them to life but man… they’re so under utilized in story plot overall. I actually enjoyed MW (2019) and MW2 but this one was not it for me. I enjoy the gameplay and the open world missions were okay but I feel like I was taken out of the severeness the plot. I wish it would’ve been better… definitely a huge letdown. I was looking forward to a conclusion for the trilogy or even like a well thought out plan of events to extend to further explore character backgrounds and improved story… but it felt rushed and not thought out at all. This game was a bad filler if the plan was for a MW4

i enjoyed it. The open combat missions were fine. Graves has some absolute gems. My only complaint is that the cmapaign is short and ends rather abruptly.

I wish I could go back to 2012 and tell my younger self to enjoy BO2 while I could, because that was the last truly great COD

I was so excited for this campaign and I am flat out DISAPPOINTED. 4/10. There are no iconic moments, nothing memorable, left on a cliff hanger and 90% of the levels are literally just glorified DMZ or warzone missions. Just awful. I wish I could get my money back

I enjoyed the campaign, just like you said, mainly for the story. Was not crazy with how what was supposed to be the no Russian mission turned out…it felt like they tried to mesh the original bo Russian mission with the hijack mission on the Russian president’s plane from mw3 2011. That’s probably my biggest gripe with it as far as the story.

I’ve loved watching your videos about the last few modern warfare and black ops games. I didn’t even play the Vanguard campaign… but this one was disappointing. The open combat missions were kind of cool but yeah there were a few too many. Overall I still feel like this shouldn’t have been mw3 and it is actually 2.5.

While not my major favorite thing from the campaign, my favorite thing was learning that Nikolai listens to Deathcore, Slaughter To Prevail no less.

I can totally see the open world missions being scrapped specops content they added to the expansion campaign as filler to make it feel more like a standalone game. Even the callouts from the other characters, like Ghost in the Oligarch mission for example, kinda felt like a co-op setup. The other char is completing objectives at the same time as you.
