I agree, Acrylic can be used if you use the looser stitches!!
Just use COMMON SENSE when selecting your yarn!!!
I prefer cotton for garments. But shawls can be done w/acrylic. There is sooooo much dejection out there now, is hard to choose. Plus most yarns soften up after you wash them!!

The La Mia cotton looks very soft. Not sure how I would ordering from overseas though. I need a cotton that is easy to work with. Alot of cotton yarns are stiff and splitty.

What would you recommend for a solid stitch project? I am going to be making a "cowboy poncho" and they want it solid but for summer. Like the old Clint Eastwood cowboy movies.
