I've used the same setup in my condo for 2 years now with no buzz. Suddenly i came home and all my speakers are buzzing constantly. I haven't added any components or removed any...i don't understand why this is occurring seemingly out of no where.

I just realized i might have a few of these issues. Not exactly sure whats the main source. But i had no idea about the unbalanced n balanced thing and the “grounding” part . This is all new to me . Definitely out of my comfort zone. mostly worked on some good quality headphones. But now im trying to listen on my monitors and I didn’t realize i had a humming noise bcuz i live on a main street n my windows are the side of the traffic . So theres noise constantly when im at home . Thx for sharing

I have a Blackmagic Design UltraStudio 4K mini with 2 Roland MA-12C monitors running off it (Video Editing / Color Grading). There is computer static, and a rhythmic click with random computer noise from both monitors. If you even watched the movie "CONTACT" with Jodie Foster...when she hears the signal from outer space...that's what it sounds like.

I tried troubleshooting:

* Switched cables - same.
* Tried only the monitors plugged into one power strip and directly into the wall - same.
* Tried the headphone jack (front) with a balanced splitter - same.
* Tried the balanced 1/4 outputs (rear)...same.
* Even powered down the 4K mini...speakers still make the computer noises.
* When I raise the volume on both monitors though via the 4K mini, the noise stays the same volume on both monitors. If I raise the volume on both monitors "Volume knobs", the noise get louder so that eliminates the 4K mini.

I am going out of my mind...thinking about not using these monitors at all. Is there a way to remove this awful sound???

Thanks.

Hi. My sub is humming. When it is connected to the power supply and no other cable connected, there is no hum. As soon as I connect the signal cable but not connected at the amp, the humming starts. If I touch the signal cable the humming amplifies. Connecting to the amp, the hum is there. Second, I have the white noise on my shelf speakers. Can it be from the ground loop or from the amp or maybe from my laptop?

Dear FireWalk - thank you very much for the Video. I locate my Buzz and from where it is coming. My setup is I have one pair of active speakers connected to my av receiver. And I have a very strong buzz. I find out, that it is coming from the antenna cable. The antenna cable is going into the TV box - and from there via HDMI into the AV Receiver and then I have the buzz in my active speakers. I am struggeling which iFi product I need. Do I need to buy two GND Blocker for each active speaker or do I need a DC Blocker in the av receiver? BTW: The AV Receiver is connected to ONE Active speaker. And this active speaker is connected via a digital cable to the other one. I have Nubert X8000. I would really appreciate your advise. :-) Thank you very much.

I just moved into an older apartment, and I am now having audio issues with my Korg SP-250 keyboard. There is static noise coming from the built-in speaker, which goes away when I plug in headphones. The sound also seems to go away, or at least lessens significantly, when I plug my keyboard into my room. However, in the living room, the static is unavoidable.
Also note: my record player speaker now makes the same noise, which is also located in my living room. Both speakers are near a microwave and refrigerator… So could it be an electromagnetic interference? Or is it more likely a grounding issue? If so, how do I fix it? :(

Great video, thank you very much! One question, the issue that I'm experiencing comes from the usb on my mac, so that ifi defender + should do the job but does the GND defender also works on this kind of usb computer noise related?

I plugged my guitar amp and speaker into the same power strip and it's still making the annoying loud hum. I tried the Morley Hum-X and it did nothing.

My hum is random and only happens to the front speaker. Logitech z607, It will just out nowhere start humming and then stop, when I turn up the volume and down again.

So far 1 of the best videos regarding that topic :) I use an ifi zen dac v2 at my pc and got quite a similar interference when using balanced output or low gain...
However, should I use iDefender+ or the GroundLoop Breaker? Honestly the need to externally power the iDefender seems a huge turnoff for me but I'm not sure whether both devices will fix the Problem.

I had popping in my computer speakers that nothing would cure until I turned off my printer. Then it stopped.
