I hope you enjoy this one! These Tudors are really nice, especially for the money. They aren't quite on Rolex level (even for the time) but they are close. Full restorations like these are always the most challenging but also the most rewarding :) Also a reminder, I won't ask you for your watches, so if someone is reaching out to you here in the comments, via email, or on Instagram, it's likely a scammer.
ОтветитьOh wow Marshall that was so cool that you said grab your favorite beverage and watch. I actually like to have a couple of cocktails while I am watching your amazing abilities to bring these old relics back to life.👍👍👍
ОтветитьVery pretty result. 😊
ОтветитьSince you asked, it would look better to me with the dial restored. If you leave it worn, then why waste the time and work to refinish the case? The old dial and old case look better together to me. Each their own...
ОтветитьI have sent two messages in reference to a Mido Oceania it was my grandfather's. I have run into people that don't want to fix it. It's tickie shake it runs then stops. I sure hope you will consider it. I have no problem paying for your services
ОтветитьI’m not typically a gold watch guy, but this restoration just might have converted me. Absolutely beautiful work, Marshall.
ОтветитьIt would be really cool if we could hear the balance wheel start ticking when you put it in.
ОтветитьWonderful job Marshall. It looks like something you would be very proud to wear as a collector.
ОтветитьLove watching your vids. I have 2 watches that while setting the dates, the stem pulled out. Not the whole way, but about 1/8" z 1/4". Any suggestions? Thanks...
ОтветитьJust a joy to watch and listen to an intelligent human being narrating this video.
ОтветитьPoint of clarification; the anode is the negative and the Cathode is the positive.
ОтветитьWhat do you think of the old USSR watches? Are any of them actually a quality that can be had for less??
ОтветитьThe way i look at it is someone loved the watch enough to keep it “intact” and that patina is just the history
ОтветитьWeird question…. Did you commentate on MTG World Championship??
ОтветитьHi I have been a fan. I find your videos very exiting and relaxing at the same time. I recently got into watches. Big part is because of you. 😅. I have a small question if you could. I have a new watch. Its a tissot only not hte level of watches you do. and i was thinking of changing the watch face. Is that normally done? is it difficult and expensive to do? Hope you can give me an advise. Thanks in advance.
ОтветитьYou paid $600 for a old broken watch ? What is it worth now ?
ОтветитьHi
I’m not sure if this has been mentioned in the comments already .if not then just to advise the 390 movement is time only then the 395 has the date added
Complimenti per l’ottimo lavoro e per le bellissime riprese😊👏👏👏👏
ОтветитьWonderfull job and a great watch! An your voiceover is simply fantastic - some people in my business (National radio and TV) practice a hole life to obtain skills like yours - very very pleasent to listen to your voice, thanks!!
ОтветитьGlad you got it working. Beautiful watch. You mentioned on a different video that you actually started making content on a different topic, and was hoping you'd share that channel name so I could see that content. I
ОтветитьLOL....the "celebs" in your Patreon list of supporters: Frank Darabont, Peter Graves, Kurt Russell that I caught.
ОтветитьThat watch is the prettiest piece of jewelry ive noticed in a while.
ОтветитьThis dial has a beautiful patina of corrosion, grime, and yellowing so we won't touch that. The crystal on the other hand has a big thumb print on it from where I pressed my thumb on it, so that will need to be replaced. I just love a new crystal and a dial that looks like a monkey's ass.

Sir, Marshall,
...again, you have done a beautiful job to re-launch a wonderful watch .
The tudor looks great........many thanks for your excellent videos
Marshall, you are truly inspiring with you thorough deep attention to detail
That is radium dial. I would have a suction device to remove the radon air once you work on it.
ОтветитьI am amazed how you remember what screws go where when you are putting it back together.
ОтветитьLove you videos and how you also show the mistakes one can make, just makes them more real and helpful to us other amateurs 🙂. Are you able to reuse the liquids for the plating?
Ответитьstunning
ОтветитьHi Marshall ! You do a fabulous job of these videos. Great work !
ОтветитьHi Marshall, I was wondering if you did adjust the Beat error on that beautiful Tudor.
ОтветитьI think you need to check those two spring clips. It looks like the bottom of the U shaped slot is not seating into the groove in the shaft. I noticed that the one had come loose during casing and you replaced it but it still looks not quite seated.
ОтветитьNot me screaming “MARSHALL IT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU!” about that screw 😂
ОтветитьHow do u remember which screw goes where?
ОтветитьIs this tudor radioactive?
ОтветитьAwesome video as usual but the crown tube is bugging me. not you Marshall?
ОтветитьLoved watching the whole cleaning and plating process, got me wanting to try plating some of my pieces
ОтветитьI prefer original dials. I won’t buy a watch if the description says that the face has been redone. But if the watch is old and never used I’m ok with that
ОтветитьMarshall, I really enjoy your videos. It drives my wife nuts I’ll spend hours watching them. I have a question I’m curious what chemical wood you recommend to clean watch parts in my ultrasonic cleaner
ОтветитьFor that size thread, I would have thought you would use purple loctite.
ОтветитьHi Marshall. As always, I enjoyed watching this video and listening to your explanations. I have a question though: Why do the balance wheels always (?) have these little screws in the rim? I never saw you playing around with those. I can't imagine they are to balance the wheel (like on a car after replacing a tire). I can imagine that they are there to increase the moment of inertia a bit, but in that case a heavier rim is more simple to produce. So what remains is fine adjustment of the moment of inertia after a hairspring replacement. On the other hand, that can be achieved with only two screws (or just one, but that would throw off the static balance). Anyway, I am curious about the purpose of those screws.
ОтветитьI want it! How much????
ОтветитьMarshall,
I have some of Dad's watches and was wondering about them.
I have placed emails to the respective companies with only 1 returning my inquiry.
Birks 17 jewels shock resist = no reply
Citizen = replied
Seiko DX 7 jewels = no reply
Timex = no reply
a lot of watches that say quartz at the bottom and various names at the top of the dial
Rodania 17 jewels incabloc = no reply
Are any of these worth the time to get serviced?
I'm not a gold watch kinda guy, but that one came out sharp! Good work as always.
ОтветитьFirst up i absolutely love your videos so please keep it up that way❤
Then i got a questions:
Are you interested in actually manufacturing parts as well?
My grandpa was a watchmaker(at least he was an apprentice... ww2 and stuff ruined that a little i guess😅) and when he passed away last year i found the old movement that he filed 100% by hand for his master's certificate. ( its not finished )
I learned a lot from him but i am not nearly experienced enough to finish this thing...
Personally, I go more for the pristine look than the patina you prefer, but it's still fun to watch you restore because of your passion for the art. Kudos.
ОтветитьIs it just me or is the farther away video really laggy and low frame rate. i have 0 dropped frames.
