mine is greyed out, can't be clicked. tried terminal killall Finder, it's still like that

MOST SIMPLISTIC!...Mi was wondering why it suddenly disappeared- my hard drives were not showing on side bar! Mi used disk utilities, rebooted numerous times and+NUTTEN! Never even would have seen di 'location' as di tab is uniquely hidden...BIG UPS FI DI FIX=SUBSCRIBED! 👍✅

I thought I had lost them all, and I couldn't figure out how to get them back. Thanks for the DUH moment on clicking on the arrow to the right of Favorites in the sidebar. I've been using Macs since day 1 (1984, for those keeping track) and sometimes even I get stumped and need a little help. 🤔 Thanks again for the help!

I’m facing a problem in changing my preference settings in finder, i chose to open the download folder by default and search the current folder instead of the whole mac by default, however these settings does not apply even though it’s already selected !!
My finder keeps opening a random folder by default called “searching this mac”.
Also when i try to search for a something it stiil searches the whole mac!
I can’t find a solution for that! I would be so happy if you help me solve this issue.

Any idea what has happened to the "On My Mac" section in the sidebar? I upgraded from Mojave to Monterey and it no longer exists.
