Raw convertor - How to edit Prores RAW footage in Davinci Resolve

Yikes! I don't think this is the best solution. I was hopeful that it preserves everything when converting to DNG. And maybe it does. I wish the developer was transparent regarding how the software works. But it seems to be adding data. I used the free & uncompressed process. My test had a color band in a highlight area. The highlight was from a wall sconce that was exposed near limit. The wall is green but the band midway in the highlight gradient, but very close to the light source was reddish. It was very noticeable and potentially difficult to remove in Resolve. That color band could not be seen in real life. As for other software processing, did not see the band in FCP or when I converted the file with Compressor @ 4444-XQ.

Shooting ProRes Raw V-Log on Lumix Cameras.
Do i have to use Panasonics provided RAW Gamut to V-Log/V-Gamut conversion Lut on a davinci Resolve node to work with the log profile or is it not necessary?

Anyone know if files from Panasonic BGH1 paired with the Ninja V Prores RAW will work for this?

I am testing the windows version to see it this would work; I have tons of FS5 + Shogun Inferno prores HQ footage to edit in Resolve, is this footage not recognized by your app or am I doing something wrong? I get the 'nothing to convert' response. Thanks

I have just bougth the Mac version of this app and I have to say that I found it extremely slow. Now I have my Macbook Air M1 working for 20 hours and just 150 clips converted with an average of 25 seconds duration. I´m still making test of different compresions but files are very big. Quality of raw images are very impressive, but working with this proffesionally may be a headhache.
May be I´m missing something? May be windows version to be faster?

Hello Nikolaj, is it maybe a common thing that the windows app is not opening? No errors, no prompts, just not opening once clicking the icon.

I've been using the app for a few months now and it works great on Mac! However, I'm running into some permissions issues that seem to change my read/write permissions on my external drive to "custom permissions" after converting the files. The issue further persist after converting as I'm now unable to delete the files from my external drive. The error message is "The operation can’t be completed because some items had to be skipped. For each item, choose File > Get Info, make sure “Locked” is deselected, and then check the Sharing & Permissions section. When you are sure the items are unlocked and not designated as Read Only or No Access, try again." or "you cannot delete because files are in use" or and error code of some sort. I'm not sure what this is about but I've received countless error messages when trying to delete files that have been converted by the CDNG app. (shooting on ZCAM E2F6/NINJAV)

Some requests .... Have a Pause option when processing, when stop a processing clip it keeps de % of render when stopped so it will nice to have a reset render status, reveal in finder from clip list and drag&drop to clip list. Thanks

I love the idea of this utility - something I've been looking for since first testing Prores RAW. However the compression seems to be inhibitive to a viable workflow. In my tests 7:1 compression introduces egregious compression artifacts and 5:1 I would personally still say has too much visible compression loss. "Lossless" seems the best, but is 3x the file size of the already very large original ProresRAW files! And 3:1 could be the sweet spot, but is about 10% bigger in size than the original. Better compression options is a must to make this workable. Also the resulting color/gamma IS very different from how it was shot (S-Log3 in my case), so some control over this would be helpful.

When I drag the converted folder in davinci, it doesnt change to video. It imports as individual frames! I just bought the license for fx3 ! Please help

Hi Nikolaj The program has stopped working not sure what’s going on I have a M1 Max MacBook Pro it gives a error message from the app it’s self then the license input info keeps coming up

The preview files are very promising! I installed version 2.8 and the buy/restore license button just wouldn't do anything. Is there a fix in sight or do you offer another way to unlock the software?
