Thanks for reviewing this product!! As a Japanese, I was always curious about this product with the most beautiful celebrities had done the commercials for decades, at it was always onf TV!! Considering the cost of living, the price doesn't seem overly expensive in Australia, but if you lived and worked in Japan, this was definitely an extremely high-end product that normal company workers in their 20s wouldn't be able to afford and sustain. Now I'm reaching 40, I might be able to try it considering how potent it seems as you described. Thanks again!!

They need to pack it in glass because of the chemical reaction it will have with plastic.

Costco carries this in 11oz and it has a pump for 210$, cheaper than Sephora's largest size at 7.8oz

My husband offered me the big SK ii bottle. my reaction was " why would you buy such expensive stuff?". now, I can't thank him enough, it helped me a lot with the pores, I instantly feel my skin tightened. I'm not stopping using this great product and thinking now to try other stuff from this brand.

Dr. Idriss, how would you layer this with other actives in the skincare routine? Would you use it before or after applying vitamin C serum? Or is it better to use at night, before applying retinol? Also, I am curious about the SK-II LXP Ultimate Revival Cream. It supposedly has a really high concentration of Pitera, as well, but b/c it’s a moisturizer, when would that be applied?

Just note that you are so correct about the bad carbon foot print of glass . Glass recycling is high energy and a glass bottle has to used 27 before carbon neutral , if it survives Well done

This is very late lol but there is a big bottle that has a pump! It is a holy grail.

Or should I just use the SK-II at night after my double cleanse, but before my night serum? TIA!!!😅🙏

The smell is awful! I had to wash after putting it on.

It's patented for a reason there are no dupes for the exact fermented isolation

I was so reluctant to buy because it is quite expensive. But I'm glad I did. I'm 33, my skin has begun to sag a little bit around the smile lines - but after 2-3 use of the essence, the skin is visibly firmer.
Also, I noticed that I only need 2-3 drops/ use so it does last a long time and so it's not expensive to use
Another SK-II product that I used is the red bottle anti-aging serum. It's probably good but to be honest I didn't notice visible difference so probably won't buy again

Can I use Skii Essence with Tretinoin?? I just started Tretinoin a month ago and just want to make sure it’s fine, especially before the spend all that money too.if someone could help me answer this I would sure appreciate it.

Thanks for the review, I've been using it for some time but not diligently as the smell puts me off. It smells like a butt or fart if I'm being honest. I had to mask it with the serum as it smells much better. And I've been using a cotton pad, so guess now will just use my palms.

It's technically too exoensive for me but I've been using the pay in 4 plans to get my bottl3s and I try to be frugal with them 🥲

Toner is not an astringent in Asian skincare products. Asian skincare Toner, Lotion, Essence and Gel products are very different from the western types.

I buy the jumbo bottle with pump, it’s $299 on sale at Macy’s. Normally I think it’s $345. It has 11 oz. It lasts me more than a year. Sometimes I decant it and transfer onto a smaller bottle or another pump and put in the fridge until I’m ready to use it. I hope decanting does not reduce its ingredients.
