For those of wanting to experience owning rabbits but are not sure they work with your lifestyle or you don’t know if you can commit to them for 10+ years then fostering is a great idea it is budget friendly as the shelter will provide everything
from a x-pen to hay to toys and food. The only 5ing you need to provide is veggies and love💗 It is a great way to look after rabbits while they look for a new home and can be really rewarding , you can also see if a rabbit works in your lifestyle and is the right pet for you. The shelter also covers any vet bills and check ups. I fostered too harlequin dwarf lops from my local shelter about 1 month ago and it is great. I hope this helps some of you. Great video as always Victoria 💗
are you in washington? heard bag being pronounced as bayg. lol that or minnesota
Ответитьthank you for making this video! i was seriously considering getting a rabbit but i realised that my lifestyle is probably unsuitable for a rabbit now! i got a dwarf hamster instead and it worked out better 😊
ОтветитьI’m not sure if anyone else commented this but you could get hay from a local farmer. A bundle of hay (about 50-60lbs) is typically $8-$10. You could find organic hay(so no sprays or pesticides) save a lot of money!!
Love this video! I was contemplating getting rabbits but I’m not sure it’s right for me at my current home now. ☺️
Thanks for your honesty. My daughter wants a bunny. But from your video it doesn’t seem like a fit for our family.
ОтветитьWhat if you want to get a rabbit but you want to bond with one rabbit before you get another so you wait to get a 2nd? Would that be ok?
ОтветитьI already have my rabbits but for a different reason. We didn't buy them. My aunt released them and most of them got caught by dogs. We saved the last one and got two more so it wasn't alone and so she didn't releaase anymore. But we have done a lot of research and we're still doing more.
Ответитьmy old one sevived almost 14 years until we hade to put him down because of age and metical isuses
ОтветитьI feel like a rabbit when not be the right path for me because I travel a lot and I'm painting at the University next year so I probably would not on a rabbit
ОтветитьMy dad raised a bunny and his family and he want to cook it and they also are raising it unproperly, im planning to adopt it, its just too harsh and i really have to :( if i can ill try to raise it as a kid
(with my moms permission
Also my house does grow vegetables! Its better to save money by growing and harvesting them
Thank you, I have bad depression and anxiety and I wanted an ESA animal since my doc thought that would help me. I was deicing between a small dog or rabbit, and this helped me to see a dog would suit me better. Thanks, Victoria 🤠.
ОтветитьIs it better to hace 2 females?
ОтветитьI had a friend, she was twelve and really wanted a hamster. I showed her your videos and she still got a small cage for her hamster including a 6 cm hamster wheel and a hamster ball- I told her that she shouldn’t get it if she couldn’t take care of it and she didn’t listen. She picked it up after buying it from a pet store and threw it across the room when it became stressed. The hamster wasn’t fully comfortable with being held but it warmed up to me pretty quickly, she gave it up after two weeks because “it was unbearable”. I was only ten but even then I recognised that she was wrong and quickly ditched her due to her very abusive tendencies.
ОтветитьQuick question, can rabbit live outside? I know someone who keeps their rabbit outside in a cade all day long. So I'm just wondering. 🐰✨
ОтветитьWhile I do find your videos really educational, could you please maybe include some pros in this list too? Similar to your rat video, I feel discouraged to take in a pet, being scared that I won't be the perfect owner. I'm planning to move for university and exploring the idea of getting an emotional support animal. At my parents house we have 3 dogs, one of which is mine, however he's a senior and I'm afraid that a move would be too stressful for him so I started exploring the idea of getting a new pet for after I move and settle down. My mental health is not the best and animals have always been a great comfort to me and I would love to adopt a pet to give it a new loving home just like I did with my current dog. It's really hard to find a suitable pet though 😔
Ответитьvictoria u have such nice curly hair? do u straighten it? ours is very simialiar even in colour luv ur curls babe
ОтветитьI wish I was a rabbit person. They're so cute and there are so many in the local shelters, but I don't think I have what it takes to give them their best life.
ОтветитьYou can get hay for waayyy cheaper. Go to your local tractor supply store. You can get 50lbs bales for $7.
ОтветитьReally informative and enjoyable to watch, thank you!
ОтветитьI really want bunnies but I don’t think I have the money for hay or veggies are there any similar pets I have a hamster but she is a ghost hamster so I can’t interact as much
ОтветитьI used to have a hamster, your the first person who taught me how to care for a hamster, since 2018-2019 I didn’t even know that hamsters shouldn’t have small cages and u basically saved her life, she died , (LLS🕊️) now it’s 2022 I’ve finally brought myself to get a new animal I’m getting a rabbit soon here I am watching you again. Thank you so much u made a big difference to my life
Ответитьi've been wanting one because when i was buying things for my hamster in the pet store i saw a rabbit with a very very small cage, they were like half of the cage. i'm still considering because we have an empty room in our new house although it might take some time for me to actually buy one since i'm broke at the moment lmao
ОтветитьMy hay is $8 for a HUGE, high quality too! All veggies are about $2-5 too :)
ОтветитьOne thing not many people mention is the mess! Not just chewing but the fact they poop all the time and everywhere! I've had my rabbit for 11 years, he has a litter tray and has learned to do most of his business in it but despite that I always have to vac up before bed. Before getting a rabbit, ask yourself if you are prepared to have to clean up lots and lots of rabbit poop every day. If you are younger and still live with your parents, be prepared to hear a lot of complaining about the mess aha.
Of-course I'm sure its possible to fully house train a rabbit, but it will take a lot of work and dedication. (Like training a dog.)
I've got a 1 bunny for my B-day and my mom doesnt want him to be free roam (he is free roam but only in the day) and hes single rabbit :(
ОтветитьMore rabbitssss
ОтветитьHay haters the more you comment the more money she gets I’m not a hater she’s really good at taking care of stuff so you should be nice
ОтветитьDo you have to have 2 rabbits
ОтветитьRabbits are prey animals so yeah not all of them wants to cuddle just let them trust you first if you really want to cuddle your rabbit
ОтветитьOnce I started watching this video about a family getting rid of their bunny because they got bored of it I immediately thought “What would Victoria’s reaction be?”
ОтветитьWell, guess I'll stick to LEGO pets from now on 😢
Ответитьtop tip get insurance
ОтветитьGetting our bun through GI STASIS cost us $1,000 by the end of it. Worth it, of course. But dang those vet bills can hit hard
ОтветитьBuying hay from our local rabbit society, or feed store saves us SO MUCH MONEY. It is $7 a “flake” which is compacted. 4 flakes gets our 3 buns through the month!
ОтветитьHi Victoria, I don’t know what’s happening with my bunnies. I have 1 female and 1 male, and the male is younger than the female. (I did check their gender) The female is a Netherland Dwarf Lionhead Mix and the male is a Hollandloop bunny. My female keeps licking and grooming the male. Is the female pregnant?
ОтветитьI am considering getting a rabbit soon and your channel really helps! I’m glad people like you are on the internet to help people like me who know a bit less about animals! ❤️
ОтветитьHi there Victoria i am a past rabbit owner(my rabbit died around Easter)and I’m thinking of getting another rabbit and I have just recently got a hamster.I also have a dog who was used to my rabbit now.I am thinking of changing my room around so I have more space.I was just wondering if you still advise me getting a rabbit.Btw my rabbit would have the option to free roam and have a cage when ever x
Ps:Love your channel
Can you do one about Cats?
Ответитьthe allergies point is definitely a great one to bring up!! i had guinea pigs when i was younger and i never had allergies to anything before so that wasn’t even a thought in my mind when we got them. but it turns out i’m allergic to their dandruff and hair. though it’s not a detrimental allergy so we kept them for their entire life span
ОтветитьOk so my rabbit lives in a good size hutch and he goes out the hutch and into a big pen on the grass for all day and sometimes comes inside. Is that ok for my rabbit? (He’s a very small mini lop rabbit) and should I also get him a friend ?
ОтветитьMy rabbit damage my vr headset to my PlayStation 😂
ОтветитьWe have 4 guinea pigs and they are very similar to rabits as far as care, poop and life span. lol we learned as we went along. I wish we had watched videos like this. Great and informative video!
ОтветитьI’m not getting a rabbit but I really wanted to watch this video!
ОтветитьBueno para serte sincera los conejos son la mejor compañía bueno para mi porque es genial el mío es súper súper sociable le encantan las caricias y cuando el quiere esta a todo y es un conejo muy muy bueno saludos desde Chile 💗💗
ОтветитьI only pay $10 for a bale of hay that lasts over 2 months for my rabbits and I make my own litter out of shredded litter. sooooo ya it doesn't haft to cost that much.
ОтветитьYeah i definitely can’t have rabbits… thank you for this informative video!
ОтветитьThank you for making these videos. I know multiple people who have bought rabbits on impulse, and think that this could definitely help some people decide what is best for them!
Ответитьwhere can you get rabbits
