I still remember being scared of that knaaran level, I literally couldnt get past that first part where youre in the small maze and the knaaran is patrolling that area, i would try and defeat it but it turns out theyre invincible, i endedup putting the game down for a while till i finaly decided id get back into it and actually beat it
ОтветитьHoly hell...The Garfield haunted house games and yes the doughnuts! God I gotta play those again that was just a random blast of nostalgia I was not expecting.
ОтветитьYOOOO HOODOHOODLUMSREVENGE
ОтветитьFun Fact: A hat in time's queen vanessa mission is actually completely skippable as theres a secret airvent in the mansions basement that leads straight to the time piece, this was added into the game as beta testers were either too scared to continue or were struggling to find the keys
ОтветитьPersonally id like to add ALL of subnautica
ОтветитьReccomendation:Giygas from Earthbound
ОтветитьThat Garfield spooky house flash game is where I experienced my first jumpscare lol
ОтветитьOH MY GOD I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT THE GARFIELD HAUNTED HOUSE GAME
ОтветитьIs that strange, Clay figure looking girl on the thumbnail from some game?
Ответитьdude really included the sa2 ghost im done
ОтветитьYour editing is top notch. I love the visual gags and there’s just enough of them to not be too overwhelming
Ответитьisnt psychonauts a horror/cartoon movie at first
ОтветитьWant a cool fact about Fortnite. It was originally supposed to be a very terrifying horror game where you would go around with your friends and do some stuff. It was like some post apocalyptic thing and the concept art is really scary.
ОтветитьI remember playing the ice age 3 game for the Nds and there was this level (kinda like a mini game for inbetwen levels) were you are sid an have to take care of the baby dinosaurs while they were sleeping r smtn and there were these uncanny ass dinosaurs in a dark background like, pitch black and no music cuz it was nightime ig, only the sound of you shooting fruit r something at like that at them to make them go away, it's not that bad now but it made me feel pretty uncomfortable so yeah
ОтветитьThe sims 2 lore has a lot of fucked up details, too, especially in strangetown, where there's Olive Specter, a serial killer, and Nervous Subject (which is Olive's son) who is used as a human experiment and tortured by two evil scientists
ОтветитьAnyone play the legendary starfy? If so did the mega snark/shark freak you out as a kid. I remember it did for me because if you swam to fast a sound would start to play of it getting ready to come eat you. It might just be my child brain being scared of everything TwT
ОтветитьAs a kid, I played the CARS videogame. Y'know licensed videogame based on the movie 'n stuff.
Something that seriously fucked me up were the segment where you're "tractor tipping". Essentially, you drive onto a big ass field, drive up to the little tractors sleeping, and honk, which causes them so freak out and tip over.
These missions take place at night. However nothing particularly scary yet.
If you watched the movie, you'll remember the red harvester car, Frank. He also appears in the game. And man, he fucked me UP.
This mission still traumatizes me to this day.
Maaan, you gotta give Psychonauts a chance, the kinda stuff like that room in Mila's mind is what hooks you, bro, wait till you see the psych ward levels
ОтветитьI never finished Vanessa's Manor lol (I was literally 16-17 when I played AHIT), I just used the hidden dev skip in the basement that I'm convinced was left there on purpose
Ответитьgreat video
ОтветитьYou forgot to mention, the two kogama horror music, the kogama wind sound and the kogama oculus scream, hell, these are scary as hell.
ОтветитьPoor Glover has to live in Caelid
ОтветитьSuper Paper Mario was dark. I remember the death of the sammer kingdom really got to me and visiting it after wasn't any better either.
ОтветитьBabys first horror segment (except for epic mickey)
ОтветитьEpic Mickey was so weird. Here's what stuck with me while I played it as a kid:
- The Ticket Booth area in Gremlin Village is one of the first places you arrive at and the atmosphere stays weird for the rest of the game.
- Even when it was day, the sky was constantly dark or a smog yellow.
- You could spray Mean Street and Ostown with paint thinner and delete colorful sections of the place. You could also spray characters and make them dissolve into puddles on the ground. Then they just lay there screaming with arms flailing out of the puddle.
- You find deteriorating animatronics of Mickey's friends who plead with him to be put back together.
- Mickeyjunk Mountain, especially The Heaps. Not only is it creepy, but the Mickey merchandise there is massive and unusable.
- The Stretching Room in Lonesome Manor had disturbing pictures on the wall you had to shuffle correctly in order to get to the next room.
Oh my gosh, someone who remembers Glover in the same way I did. Hard as f*** (I couldn't even get through the tutorial for a good while) and the overworld scared me too much to continue playing once I did. The box always made this game look so fun and when I finally got to rent it, I was definitely met with... an experience.
ОтветитьA "realistic" T-rex running at you from a black void with snarls and eerie music traumatised me. And I Iove dinosaurs.
ОтветитьI found the psychonauts milla Easter egg back when the game released on Gametap (07-08??) and I just remembered being so terrified and shocked I never finished the game but revisiting it recently the Milkman Conspiracy is just as creepy/unsettling
ОтветитьA couple minecraft things i see no one talk about is
- The Ocean Sounds.
- The Nether Sounds (specifically the Soul Sand Valley)
- The Ancient City and it’s weird connection to the Nether and Redstone (Education Edition really adds onto that, surprisingly)
- The Abandoned Villages
There is definitely more but that’s what i can think of currently
Bruh i remember getting epic mickey for our wii when i was around 11. The game was weirdly haunting to me. I still cant remember anything that happened besides the entire world feeling dark and grim. It did quite scare me as a kid. I played both games, but never beat them because my stupid kid brain was too nervous to go exploring to try and find stuff
ОтветитьFun fact about the garfield horror game: the man in the basment is Odie's OG owner, disappearing from the comic panels after insulting garfield!
ОтветитьIt's not a family friendly game, but as a kid I was too freaked out to finish Halo Reach because of the Guta, these giant freaky troll things that appear once in the entire franchise. The original plan was for the Covenant to weaponise these, but it never happened.
ОтветитьGotta say, it's validating seeing someone else afraid of flying insects which don't really pose a threat. The flying isn't what gets to me as much as the buzzing sound they make. I'm just thankful most media uses very unrealistic buzzing sounds which my brain can tune out.
ОтветитьPsychonauts 1 is basically a half-game tutorial followed by some of the most imaginative platforming levels ever made.
ОтветитьWith the Pokemon B&W ghost in Pokemon B&W2 there’s another ghost charachter
ОтветитьGlover turns from bright and happy to creepy and dark? What a plot wrist!
ОтветитьI know Roblox isn't ENTIRELY family-friendly (as it does contain horror games, even though most are just... tension and jumpscares instead of actual horror), but as a child, I was playing one of the building-based 'survive the monsters' games. I didn't know how to build on them, so when the monster was a giant Slenderman (something I didn't know about at the time), I hid in a small space with another person. However, somehow, we were caught. It showed a creepy photo of Slenderman up close with the weird stinging noise from the Slenderman Eight Pages game, and that scared the crap out of me.
I was so terrified, I instantly just shut the computer off, then sat with my brother and watched him play GTA (even though I wasn't entirely allowed to, but not like he cared, lol).
It probably wouldn't have been so traumatizing, had my brothers not known about Slenderman... as they constantly terrorized me about Slenderman, like how he lived in the woods (we live by the woods) and kidnapped and tortured little children, and they claimed he had a preference for little girls (such as myself).
I'm older now and I know better, but I still have some resentment towards my brothers, as it was genuinely traumatizing for me as a child.
Thank you so much for the shoutout, man, glad my Rayman 3 video could help your research!
Loved your video and looking forward to seeing more from your channel. Keep up the great work!
Only the Steamboat Willie version of Mickey Mouse is free from copyright if I remember correctly.
ОтветитьWhen I was a child, me and my brother played a Nintendo 64 game called Star Fox 64. There was the final boss battle named Andross that you had to defeat, but if you play the game correctly you get to fight his “true form” which was a giant brain with floating eyes with the optic nerves flailing behind them and were connected by electricity. After destroying the eye balls, the giant brain will chase you with a slow and unsettling heartbeat sound that grows louder when he’s near, and if you got too close he’d pulverize you with those long wormy tentacles that hang from the brain stem. Now I was just a kid when I first saw it and it scared the living 💩 out of me
ОтветитьIn act 4 of A Hat in Time you can also find nooses hung on the trees.
ОтветитьIt's surprising to me that when you mentioned A hat in time's Queen Vannessa's mansion you didn't mention Snarcher/Vannessa and Prince's backstory. I would explain but I don't really wanna spoil character/story stuff
ОтветитьI feel Fortnite save the world is scary mainly the enemies that are just humans with their skin pealing off as if its a suit
ОтветитьSad to see the River of Styx in Super Paper Mario wasnt in this
ОтветитьOmg just hearing the ps1 launch sound give me ear orgasm.
Good video
