Cripes, I'm an old codger. I remember when Carly's songs were on mix albums by K-TEL... advertized on... don't laugh... UHF TV stations. Back when there was such a thing. I never thought much of the '70s... during the '70s. And I mocked them ferociously in the '80s. Looking back now... what a fool I was. The '80s kicked for sure, but the tripe they vomit forth today is practically a war crime. Carly, sang, played AND wrote. Does T. Swift come close? I think not. Ah well, maybe A.I. will figure out how to make good music again. Sky-net the Pop-Star. Imagine that.

1971, Carly also sang a song about marriage that year. I was 17 and looking at the draft Army, getting married to M16 and Viet Nam :) Entered Navy in August 1972, got out later (after war ended) in 1975 earning $2/hour. Retired in Jan 2016 (Pentagon), have sons, daughter, and grandchildren now. Getting ready for some more beach time, bodyboarding, surf fins, and time with my grandsons soon. Carly singing in 1971, 53 years passed in my life - fast :) An amazing journey in life and nearly 39 years with my wife.

Every time she opens her mouth, I instantly go back to that time. This is magic only someone as talented as Carly Simon can make, reality.

Making the seagulls dance upon the wind! I've 'Goose-Bumbs' now for over fifty years every time I'm confronted with this wonderful song. Truly natural, the song and Carly's innocent stage presence: just into the music. You can always inwardly feel that which originates from the heart, and a pure motivation. Money is important I am sure, but this kind is driven from an inner place. It is not propelled with fame or ego, though ego in low quantities supplies the where-with-all to get the job done. This is what she is, a shared and beautiful uplifting vibration... Thank you, Carly, for all the years and the genuine part of you that was shared with all of us!

Enjoying again today :) Great beach time last week at Colington, Kill Devil Hills OBX, plenty of surf time, boogie boards, swimming and more :) The Dems had their convention in Chicago, I hit the beach and waves. What did I miss? *These are not the convention politics you are looking for*, move along :)
