I'm pretty experienced at and enjoy tower defense so I decided to invest my passive atlas points in blight. After gaining better understanding of the league mechanics, I'm looking forward to doing the red blighted maps that I have collected as I completed my atlas.

aaannnd…20 seconds into the “beginners blight guide and I have no idea what you’re talking about. What is up with POE and their “beginners guides” that are completely incomprehensible to beginners. I’m sure it’s most Excellent info, but for someone that’s done it 4x in maps and failed them all, I kinda need, idk, some of it explained. Like, how the fuck do you increase the tower size, I had no idea their was a build limit, or rather had no idea where the currency for building was, etc.

is it actually true the atlas doesn't affect the blighted maps? the normal pump durability is 10, not 20 like Travic has, that comes from the atlas

Cost reduction is great but other than league start, its just a waste as u end up with thousands at the end and it feels quite bad. Cost reduction just makes the start easier but mid to late blight its just a waste imo, great video thou 👍👍

Man. I can't even barely get normal blight encounters to work right and I don't understand it. I only need like 2 different oils to anoint my amulet and I don't want to buy stacks of the stuff. I hate this mechanic so far. I've only completed 2 of them and I've watched multiple guides.

I found a solution; downgrade my helmet back to Devoto's Devotion, the extra speed was just enough to win a map.
And on blighted maps you need less tankyness, so having a speed build can help.


I hate blight maps the more I play them, keep losing:
- I'm boneshatter ~1.5m dps and I've beaten some guardians, yet I lose t13 blight maps.
- I spent currency to roll them without any hp mods or cannot be stunned or anything like that.
- The preparation time is useless because I cannot see future paths or tower positions.
- I have far too little vison over other lanes, only when it's already too late is there a warning.
- I can rush over, kill the mobs on that lane and start building towers.
- But I keep being late everywhere and mobs keep randomly popping up right in front of the pump.
- I often accidentally upgrade freezing and stun towers too far.
- There's not enough possible tower positions to spend all my tower build material.
- Building towers takes a lot of time because you need to wait for the lvl 1 tower to build before you can upgrade.
- I'm busy the whole time but cannot keep up :(
- Tower build or upgrade icons are often blocked by lane or buff icons, is there a way to hide these?

would be nice, if u show us how to deal with blight maps in the early beginning, without annoints on rings and oils.

You can annoint maps?!!?! oh my god, this is why i have never managed to clear a blighted map

How i do ele reflect map , spam minion tower . Abit painful tbh

Any guide for encounter? Sometime it separate 5 Lines with guided scarab monsters are crazy.

So your not using Ring Anoint for Burning Ground anymore? But were still using Chilling Toweers correct? What is the other one now?

nope.. Ice towers.. T3 only, temporal towers, with overlapping stun towers, and tower buff towers. with meteors as main dmg. dont need anything else.
if you get the right enchants.. you never loose.

Hey great video! Which anoints do you use in the beginning of mapping for the rings?? And later on when u can afford more expensive oils?

Couple of thoughts. You should mention that stun tower needs power to fully stun and that chilling towers need ring anoint to fully freeze. (this helped me a ton from your old video). Also you might want to include map mods to avoid that can brick blight maps such as Stun immunity, avoid expose, avoid elemental ailments.

Hey, I'm interested in that shut off mechanic - how does it work in co-op? Is it next to any player? Map owner? The one who built the tower?

ah blight... blight last league i got crash every 2 blight encounter or 2-3 crashes in blight maps, and you can freely play it :)

I usually tend to struggle more with blight encounters rather than maps in the beginning. Do you have strategies for those?

I have no trouble on Blighted map at all 99% of the time.
BUT i'm still hard failling on T16 Blight encounter on dedicated layout like Toxic Sewer etc.. (Atlas spec into Blight ofc) right now.
I'm testing a league start Elem EA with a early gear setup (gem 20/20, decent gear but not "endgame", aka not full +1 level or fire dot multi/influence everywhere), meteor/chill annoints.
But fewer lanes, lack of tower (and sometimes immunity), makes me fail like 75% of my testing so far on layout heavily optimized for Blight. (on others, it's done relatively easily)
The DPS/Ignite is not enough or too slow to pop all the white monster usually and the pump gets swarmed by yellows/bosses most of the time.

That's prolly a build issue, but i'm really wonder which build to go for, for a very high level of success early league into Blight ENCOUNTER.

What about the annoint to slow monsters?
Even with 2 amber annoints you can already build the maximum number of towers.
So might as well use the third annoint for something else.
I know it's only 12%, but it's also the cheapest oil.

I did not know that towers stop working when being away from them O.o

I think you should also include in a link in your description to your first blight map guide. There was a LOOOOOOT of info in there that I think would also be super helpful, but I think even this one should be good enough. I don't think people understand the power of amber oils when you're first learning. I actually even overlook it sometimes and have lost a few maps because I couldn't build enough towers in time (doing maps above my dps capabilities). I've told you plenty of times before, but you are awesome. Your willingness to share to those without the knowledge is amazing and I wish there were more people like you out there.

if you do a lot of trading at once and are not going in and out of you map constantly little trade are fine and add up

hi, I found in poe wiki: "Blight icon chests from completing Blight encounters in maps have a chance to drop a Blighted version of a map. Blighted map drops are not affected by Cartography Scarabs." so cartography scarab doesn't work on Blighted map or Blight encounters map Tier 16 ?, please explain. Thank you

Damn, I’ve never got into blight. That’s insane though you don’t even have to attack and you managed to not only complete it, but complete it with ease.

When did you start using lightning towers? I don't remember those from older guides

I think it's an overkill to use 3 discount oils as towers are still limited to your range. If you can't add chests/lucky chests yet, just add 1 oil for slowing movement speed of monsters

Can't you also add fragments to the map? They do affect it I believe

I think the new Atlas keystone will make life a lot easier and I might give it a try with it. But Im not very hopeful. But tower defence in POE never really worked and in bad need of a re-work.

What's about your league start? Last Start with your build was great i did 40/40 in Crucible

Can you also add a collection of recommended league starter for this? I never did full Blight mode and thought about doing it this league.

I'll try blight on league start this league.. I've never done this before. Last league I made the bulk of my currency with heist before entering maps, and then I started with blight on week 2 maybe.
This time i'll try blight from week 1, let's see.. I know that I'll have to "learn" to flip currencies, because I never do this, but i'm excited to try =)

I was planning to do Blight this season but I see all the good maps are out of rotation. The only possible might be silo, but it does not squeeze lanes nearly as well as Core, Toxic Sewer or Waste pool. Do you think Silo will be fine?

Good video so far. Couple of things. As soon as you get them you can do teal+violet and amber+amber on your rings for scout tower annoints, this lets you do 2 amber and 1 reward oil (not teal until later) to increase your rewards. These are some pretty cheap annoints to allow you to not need 3xamber
