I loved the tutorial and used it to edit a little film I shot, but I ended up not being able to have 2 versions, even though it was obvious I had 2 versions, and when I rendered I ended up with the unedited version. I must have missed a step. I can't find it, I just can't find it. Can someone help me out?

I am totally new to not only davinci resolve but to this color grading thing.. it is kind of difficult to read colors in frames. How can I read the colors better ?? Because I am thinking to be a color grading artist but understanding the color reading is bit difficult.. help me out please..!!

My V-Log footage is so much more flat than your footage so when I move lift and gain it doesn´t give me the same result. I keep having a very flat image. And if I keep moving the wheel, the black tones start to look bad, crushed
