2023 SouthEast LinuxFest; Ansible sucks. Theres no way around it. But can we make it better? YES we can in two major ways: by opting to write our own modules and by using Saltstack along-side it.
In this talk I will walk through how you can stop writing Eldritch perversions of Jinja code in your playbooks and roles by writing your own Ansible modules. I will also discuss how you can integrate Ansible with Saltstack to make your life much easier.
