I would have loved if they've put the kratos in god of war 3 like speed especially the trailer of it, That trailer movements of kratos seems so fluid

that 1440p 120fps mode was definitely made with a future PS5 Pro in mind

I have an LG C2 55" and I dont understans how 30-40fps is playable, the judder when you pan the camera is unbearable and can cause headaches! The 60fps is a bit bitter but the judder is still there.

DF, you did not mention the motion blur or film brain settings; how do you feel about those?

i enjoy watching these videos, i was done worrying about graphics after the mid gen consoles. i grew up with nintendo and sega, this stuff looks ridiculous good and any "improvement" is negligible.

How did this not make at least honorable mention in the end of year graphics ranking?!

What about PS5's 120hz mode analysis in general. I mean, if you play games in 120hz, you get worse HDR effects, console can't output full 444 chroma and things start to mess up. GOW has this bug which makes its pause menu to burn in in HDMI buffer of some sort stored in your TV. Bug is VRR related, because turning it off clears the burn in...

If anything, this is yet another proof of how ahead of its time the 2018 title was.

The only time I got some major fps drops was during one of the berserker fights when Atreus called his summons and I did one of my runic powers at the same time

i get sum microstutter on performance mode. vg249q. playable just annoying. idk if itd my setup or what. spiderman games run great on 60 aand 120 no Vrr

If the LG C1 is calibrated as HDTV test (Vincent’s preferred settings) and using HGIG, what should the HDR in-game be in God Of War Ragnarok, the LG HDR is 700-750 nits.

I play this game on the base PS4 and it still looks amazing. Santa Monica Studio did a great job tbh.

Sony has production values but man their first party games are just lowest common denominator melodramas. I hope they diversify their output cause naughty dog, SSM, and Guerilla just bore me to tears. Funny cause I always go for PS consoles but just not interested in the bulk of their 1st party output.

Most of the crawling/squeeze moments are just hidden loading screens

A couple of times, the 40fps mode randomly jumped down to 30fps, usually after going to a dwarven shop. Doesn't happen very often and maybe was fixed in a recent patch (if there's been a patch). It's a noticeable difference and I'm not sure if it's happened to anyone else. It's also slightly disappointing that there's no big visual benefit to playing on PS5 over PS4 pro. But TBH, the game itself and the cutscenes (!!!) are so extraordinary that it doesn't matter. Such amazing characters, acting, music, design and cinematography so far.

hfr mode was awesome for this game, wish more games would support it even if its niche (since im in that niche XD)

i imagine they are already geting started on the next game. we know this one ends the nordic story, but obviously this isn't the end of the series. unless they are going to go back and remake 1-3.

It kind of makes me sad that Santa Monica delivers this gorgeous, thoughtful, fun, and technically solid game and I can only give them the same price that other companies charge for buggy, unfinished, cynical, scam-filled, time-wasting crap. I hope they put out a DLC if only so I can give the team some more money! Everyone who enjoyed God of War 2018 should pick this one up, It is well worth the price.

I've had two bugs. One, kratos got stuck in some rope trying to get into some boat in a mine. And the other one - the dogs in the snow area....were floating and got stuck. Good thing there's some easy restart.checkpoints.

When I switch to HFR in Performance mode HDR drops to 422 and the quality of picture become much more less brighter. Does it mean that PS5 can't handle 120hz+HDR at all because of chip low bandwidth? Or is it problem of TV or cable (I use ps5 standard cable, TV is LG B1)?
