Unfortunately once you put auto tune on a vocal it doesn't matter what plugin you put it through after, nothing can stop it from sounding like absolute crap except the fader. The closer the fader gets to - infinity the better it sounds.

I think he will sell his Waves plugin.... ^^

Want better vocals, get a transformer less mic add a hint of plate reverb or delay and call it a day after the dry recording and always records vocals at a low level, the point of recording vocals at a low level is so one can have plenty of volume ( Headroom ) to crank up with stellar clarity etc without any distortions ! Can always add color, distortion or crank the volume etc later !
Mr Stefan uses a Sony C100 which is of course a transformer less mic which = Clean and some added warmth... Also if recording in mono, which I highly suggest, you can always duplicate the recorded mono vocal ( Digitally ) yeah lets splice tape lmao, having two or three or four vocals tracks etc ( Over dubbing / Harmonies ) and pan the new mono vocal tracks hard left and right or whatever % of the panning you want and use all sorts of effects on each mono vocal track etc to get great vocals... You can then use a vca compressor on one mono vocal track, then a fet compressor on the other mono vocal track, leave one of the mono vocal tracks dry etc then a delay on the next vocal track etc... And this goes for ANY preamp, but one would surely want the cleanest possible... A top of the line transformer less mic I'd without a doubt buy that is affordable is the Lewitt 440 Pure or a Milab LSR 3000... ( Google transformer less Mics ) Nice article about you with Prism Audio by the way, Later...

Scheps is an absolute mad genius. Every since I've started listening to him my mixes have got 1000000000000x better. Just the rear bus technique he uses with the mono split compression can make a mix sound a million times better about 90% of the time. It's insane how much knowledge this man just gives away for free. We live in a wild time.

I couldn't figure out did he place the entire mix into the aux he named "Parallel"? Slow attack fast release with no makeup gain? The idea being (if Vox is the loudest, it replaces having to do automation, hence the music/guitars go down when the vocals are the loudest and then they come back when there's no Vox? I want to make sure I'm understanding that part because it seems crucial to his rear bus technique (which seems to morph every time he or someone else tries to describe it.

I don't think he could see the monitor with all his hair flying in his face. I guess he mixes with his ears? I have that plug in but rarely use it bc it seems to add in too much hiss. I'll give it another go. It does have a lot in one!
