RimWorld - PC Review

One of the best games I've played in my life, and I had not played anything in this game genre before it. a solid 5/5 game. Insane replay value. Well worth it for the money. LOTS of mods that play well together in the Steam workshop. I didn't mind being lost when I first started playing.

Gave us no sense of how the gameplay works/flows. I heard 10 times about how much you loved the game and emergent storytelling but you barely covered the game.

You should make an updated video because Rimworld is no longer Early Access so I would be interested to see if all those bugs you mentioned have been fixed.

i lov this game,and i don't have any issue whit the art style,it actually love that because it makes it work even on my potato pc
but i just got a tiny problem: how raids and other events like infestations work
i mean,when you are VERY advanced in the game it just becames impossible to win 200 tribals whit bows only whit you 10 colonist (because theres actually a cap of how many colonists you can have,if you have more than 50 the game will give you raids every fucking day) and things like infestations if you live in mountains become a big issue
and also,the killboxes
they should make it better,so enemys will not fall into kill boxes,if not,it just became an exploit
i know there are zappers,but cmon,zappers come one every 10 raids

Seems like a fun game and it's getting great reviews... but visually it really looks terrible.
It's a shame that the developer couldn't have invested some time and money into making it look like a polished, unique, full-priced game.

The moding capabilities with this game are endless. Just insane.

the gameplay and mechanics look really appealing, i love playing such games. yesterday i bought Banished. It's a nice game. it seems more simpler than that.
I would love to play this. but the aesthetics and looks of the game are really pushing me away. i don't like the artstyle at all. I don't play Prison Architect as well. and haven't been interested in it, because of that.
I'm not a person who is searching for realistic look (i play games like Don't Starve, Dungeon of the Endless, FTL) but still the visuals should bring me some joy. Technically i may even prefer the ascii graphics of some games like dwarf fortress over this...

Are there mods for the game which change the character models?

After a Raid on my colony, I had captured one of the raiders and nursed him back to health. To show his gratitude towards my pawns, he accepted an offer to join the family and help in the expansion. Unfortunately, he was a drug addict and had to go in the process of clearing his body of any dangerous substance which almost broke his mind. During this process, he was mostly useless to the colony and was then given the job of janitor, a job that gave him access to every corner of the colony, at any time. One eventful late evening, he decided to clean the room of a colonist couple, but didn't realized the room was.... occupied. Being face to face with his newly made friends in action, he did the only thing he knew how to do, mopped the floor, say hello to the man...... AND TRY TO START A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE WOMAN!!! He was quickly shut down and proceeded to go clean another room.

Was the first video dealing with Rimworld. After a year, finally bought the game. Great video man and thanks for getting me into the game :))

Ripped off prison architects visual style? Excuse me? Neither developers even knew each other existed, and when they found out they were both OK with it.

When I started this game I had a thriving colony of three people, this was my first time playing so I wasn't fluent with some of the options and features so one of the animals of my planet just went mad, this animal was a monkey, this monkey easily destroyed my entire colony, yes all of my people died by a monkey. I was freaking out because I didn't know how to attack it and later in my new game I figured out how to do that simple task and didn't get my entire colony demolished by a single monkey.

This is perhaps one of the best games I have ever played, period. Great review. I think all of the bugs mentioned are long gone. The game seems almost bug free as of Alpha 17.

Idiotech, it has been around 8 months since this review. Do you still stand by your review? Did the developers fix some of the major bugs you experienced in the game?

Watching you build those batteries outside made me way too anxious.
